it will be pretty embarrassing for microsoft if the ps3 outsells the 360.
i hope they try to put up a fight at least, us consumers love competition.

November also has higher than normal sales, due to the holiday season, While the numbers are not as high as December's, they are much higher than usual. Even the end of October usually has somewhat higher numbers than normal.
Those increase should also help the ps3 to surpass the 360 even sooner.
Then there are the variables of price drops (for both sides) and big ps3 exclusives like MGS4, FFXIII, and GT5.
good numbers tird, of cours i think it will be sooner that. but what ever, the bottom line is you did a very good prediction.
lol only of by almost a year.
6,7 million only right.
xmas 08 will do away with more then half of that easily, while big releases like MGS will do the rest.

About OP,

(note, it doesn't mean ur mathematic prediction is making any sense to me ^^)
Time to Work !
@OP,
I think you short changed the "holidays" a bit. Sales actually increase early in November (sometimes towards the end of October even) and tend to peak around Black Friday (at least in the US), then they stay high all the way through December of course (and the first week of Jan is pretty big usually as well). Some of the November holiday sales weeks are responsible for some of the biggest sales numbers seen every year so you really should try to factor this into your prediction.
Since you're making a prediction for the month and not the exact week or day it might not move your prediction, but it doesn't hurt to be thorough~
