we will never know because we dont know if sony is producing vitas right now or if they just sail vitas from europe and the us back to japan to sell them there.

Well equal or not, it's still a burdance for their business plan, they create business to make profit not to create an endless loop, if they still producing PS Vita, then their business model is still divided on two, console and handled.

Just compare it with last year when they release a lot of games on Vita while focusing on PS4, they can sell a lot of PS4,

The Vita has more or less been taking the bigger hit out of the 3DS and it because it offers similar to the same experience as a tablet or bigger smartphone, only with much, much better control, but not controls worth 200$ which is where the problem lies. The PS4 will no doubt survive anyway and if anything it needs help diversifying its game library when it comes to genres, right now its mainly competing for the same crowd as Xbox.


For anyone interested btw, Konami is having weekly Suikoden stream to measure interest and potentially save the Suikoden series by showing that people still care about it. If enough people join in and discuss it they may release the games on Steam, make sequals etc.

Sony doesn't need to focus any more on Ps4. Exclusives are great for forum wars but third party's are what is selling the console. A few extra games won't change much.

They are already focusing on PS4.

If SCEI is only focused on PlayStation 4 and PlayStation Network, then theg will be crushed by android set top boxes in the next decade. They have to figure out mobile and PlayStation TV. They need to merge the Xperia Portfolio into SCEI and get down to business making a real competitor in the mobile market. They need a PlayStation Phone, a PlayStation Tablet, a PlayStation Watch, and a PlayStation Health Band.

They also have to expand the PlayStation brand to support more software. Other decives are gunning to take over under the TV, and they are not going to limit themselves. We are going to have smartboxes that are just as capable as smartphones, and if Sony does nothing, these much more useful gaming second devices will crush them just like they did the stagnant handheld market.

Sony focusing only on consoles would see PlayStation wiped out in the next decade. If they don't start expanding to productivity apps and opening up the platform to any and all software development, then PS5 will be the WiiU of the PlayStation brand, and the last consolethey ever make.

Actually they constantly have to write off Vita components so I don't know if they are profiting at all from the venture.
