Forums - Microsoft - Bioware: Mass Effect 2 will be "richer" than original

its EA owning them. so expect it on Mobile phones as well...

It looks increasingly like MS traded publishing rights on the PC version of ME for ME2 exclusivity.

Another difficulty with a PS3 version is the fact that ME game saves can be brought over to ME2 to figure out where the story stands.

I really doubt that would cause an issue though because they have to have some plan for new buyers on the 360 who didn't play the first in the series, and they would just apply that to every PS3 copy.  done and done.

...

I hope the title stays platform exclusive otherwise we will have to wait that much longer to get our hands on the sequel. Which basically blows the one generation goal out of the water. The way I look at it the title will eventually make it to the PC thanks to the similar architecture. So nobody on these forums is going to miss out it might take half a year to get it on PC, but the true fans should get it in a more timely manner.

I want to play the sequel some time in 2009. I would hate to wait another year so it could be a pawn in the console wars. That would mean I would need to buy another console to finish the trilogy before all is said and done. Which would just suck.

Believe it or not Bioware RPG's actually sell well on PC, it's not thanks to the "similar architecture" that PC will get Mass Effect 2. Bioware has a PC fanbase, so they won't screw it up by not releasing on PC .

The point I was making is that thanks to the 360s architecture porting to the PC is not problematic. However designing and implementing the game on two consoles will prolong the development cycle, and even delay the arrival on PC. Tossing the PS3 in the mix adds months to the development cycle. Everyone now waiting for the next installment would pay the price.
