Forums - Nintendo - New add-ons turn Wii into a media center

Regarding your blue Edit.... This is just one of those times the US media ignores places outside the USA without stating it.

Regarding the program, that is pretty cool, although I don't store any music and not many pictures in those folders so I suppose I would have to move them manually (which is fine by me)
However the main thing anyone would want it for is video I suppose, but I don't have many of those.

But it was canadian media ignoring places outside USA...

About the topic, yeah the Orb is year old news. Although handy, if you want to if you want to access your videos with Wii.

Ei Kiinasti.

Eikä Japanisti.

Vaan pannaan jalalla koreasti.

Nintendo games sell only on Nintendo system.

There are places outside the USA?

Yeah, Orb eats all your PC's system performance. This is not a new program. It is awful.

I never noticed my PC performance, but that's probably because I never used Orb while on my PC...since...there'd be no need. I only used it when I was at a friend's house and wanted to show them something back on my PC at home, and it's fairly good for doing that.

Bet with disolitude: Left4Dead will have a higher Metacritic rating than Project Origin, 3 months after the second game's release.  (hasn't been 3 months but it looks like I won :-p )

I gave up trying to do this with my Wii, videos came out choppy and did not load quickly enough.

Kingdom Hearts 3 Bet: If Kingdom Hearts 3 becomes a multiplaform title/is not Wii exclusive then I will be banished from this land for 1 week and sing my praises to those who have proved themselves to be more intelligent than I.http://i7.photobucket.com/albums/y267/RDBRaptor/rdbraptor_sig16.jpg%5B/IMG%5D">

What's news to me is that they're charging 500 Wii points for the Internet Channel now. That's pretty weak. Nintendo's raking in enough cash that they can afford to keep tossing people that freebie. :P

I guess it's a scheme to get people to buy 2000 Wii points and grab some VC games.

The Internet Channel beta was free when the Wii came out.  When the Internet Channel officially came out, the beta owners had until something like June to download the official channel for free, after that all users pay 500 points for it.

Lame I suppose, but I guess I don't have a problem with things like that, it's all about priorities.  Where some people can spend 5-25 bucks on a pizza without thinking but not an Internet Channel on the Wii that lets you browse the web on your TV, that's their decision.  But of course, I can agree that free was better hehe.

I guess I also feel that there's room for improving the browser if they're going to charge for it. I'd love a more customizable UI and it'd be nice if it wouldn't boot me out of the browser every time my wireless connection gets unsteady.

These are things I'd like to have if I paid 500 points for it, but of course I got it for free, so I don't really have a right to complain. :P
