That way people who bought dq heroes ps4 dont have to buy a wii u and people who bought dq10 dont have to buy a ps4

I wouldn't be surprise to see Sony invest in a lot of Japan studio's for games to get Japan sales up there.

I thought the ps3 recovery tought us that anything was still possible at this time in a generation.

They can still recover, I'm not sure how, I'm pretty sure the probabilities are low but I'm also certain they should try.

OT, it really seems like they are pushing for it to be console and from my understanding the DQ series usually goes to the system with the biggest install base. So we rule out 3ds that leaves PS4 by a large margin. so yeah

PS3 only sold 10m in Japan and that's after 8 years as well, if you're going by that then PS4 has no chance as less hardware is being sold this gen then last on all fronts and 3DS is already way past that 10m mark, in Japan in particular it's the lowest they've been since 2000.

Consoles are second fiddle in Japan, PS4 has only sold 1.3m in Japan along with Wii U's 2.3m and the X1 was nothing more then a tourist on a short trip before going home so 3DS at this point can't be caught, FFXV will have around two weeks on top of the charts there before beginning to fall off, FFXIII sold 1.8m over there so don't expect the series to trigger some kind of revival, I wouldn't be surprised if everyone who's going to buy XV already has the console.

Nope that's largest userbase in Japan for DQ, that would be Vita then Wii U in Japan.

yeah, this is a japanese centric game that's not a first party title so it makes sense to be on both platform but sometimes it's hard to understand corporate.
