Forums - Gaming - The Witcher 3: Wild Downgrade (Digital Foundry, Demo vs Retail)

What do you think?

Terrible Downgrade, looks like shit now 6 22.22%

Big downgrade, but still gorgeous 15 55.56%

Small Downgrade, nothing to care about 4 14.81%

It looks the same (lol) 2 7.41%

Total:27

I really wish we had Tachi to make a full analysis of this... oh well.

The downgrade is just too obvious and in this video is more evident than ever.

But at least the game is still pretty good looking. Any thoughts about it?

I easily forgive CDProjekt, we'll have mods that will make it stand out and above everything else anyway after a while. I always mod my open-world games, both visuals and other features.

But CDP is perfect and doesn't ever lie or fool its customers. Maybe this proof is being fabricated.

Yeah biggest downgrade I've ever seen in terms of actual gameplay footage! I do understand the position they were in, but will people except that ubisoft was in the same position with Watchdogs?

The initials builds of these games were done before any "next gen" console reveal and probably a bit before they really got to work out the capability of the dev kits, essentially they expected more from PS4/X1. At least the guys at CD project red almost are a bit more transparent with what happened.

To be honest, i stayed away from promotional materials on this. I know that comparing to E3, the game is downgraded. But, with that said, the game in front of me looks absolutely amazing. May be a downgrade, but its still a wow worthy game, something that wasnt the case with Watch dogs.

yeah pretty much like they said. The 2013 trailer was heavily manipulated in a way that it looked much better than the rest of the game (that was far from being finished). The 2014 demo is much much closer to the retail release, with the biggest difference being the lighting downgrade.
