Forums - Gaming - For all 360 Gamers, do you care about GTAIV Episodic Content?

anyone know WHEN they are going to give us details about the content? Will they say anything before GTA4 launches?

Personally I think it would be pretty messed up if they didn't say anything until after it launches, as im sure theres people out there who are debating which version to get... depending on how big the content is, and the space itll take on the hdd, price, etc, etc...

^ i wanna try mass effect. heard it was good.

Mass Effect is awesome. It's an RPG and you can make choices that will actually change gameplay in the rest of the game AND even in the games to come.

OT - The PS3 is getting DLCs, but not the two episodes. I am not sure if I stated that earlier, but that's the deal. The 360 will also get DLCs but the advantage is the extra episodes.

GeBX hit the nail on the head. They are extra missions, extra areas for the 360 only. MS didn't just cough up $50M to delay it - they coughed up $50M to make sure the extra missions will never, ever see the light of day. Guns and cars, even clothing is one thing - extra missions are something else.

What's with all the bullshit against the 360 in the last week?

There is NO confirmed DLC coming to PS3, NONE. In fact a Microsoft exec has said that only the 360 would be getting GTAIV DLC and Rockstar which is quick to set the record straight didn't dispute that.

Seriously people need to stop trying to spin 360's GTAIV DLC as a bad thing, it only makes them look desperate and a fool.

It all depends on what the DLC is. Since Microsoft invested 50 million in this I cannot see it as just missions.

EMULATION is the past.....NOW.......B_E_L_I_E_V_E

Hard to say not knowing the content or the price. If it's just a couple of new missions and some new cars I won't get it.

DLC for the 360 version of GTA IV is just some nebulous "thing" at this point. There are absolutely zero concrete details.

It's supposed to be "substantial". But substantial what? A number of side missions, new cars and new weapons would certainly be considered substantial by some. Others wouldn't give that qualification to anything less than a mini-expansion with brand new areas and a whole new story.

Are we talking Half-Life 2 episodes substantial? Or are we looking at something more similar to the DLC pack for Crackdown?

At this point, I'm buying the PS3 version of the game (as long as performance is equal) just to spite Microsoft because I loathe the idea of trying to buy exclusivity to a better version of a multi-platform game. It's fucking bullshit, IMO. However, if the GTA IV DLC really is substantial in the HL2 episodes vein, I'll have to suck it up and buy a used 360 copy at some point as well so I can check out the DLC.

I'm glad you have the moral fiber to not waiver from your convictions

I'll get the dlc if it's good and not too expensive.

Moral fiber? If there's some truly worthwhile GTA content, I'm not going to deprive myself of it just to make some kind of a point that would never be heard by anyone. I'm just letting personal opinions drive my initial purchase.
