Are you sure these screens are for Cry On? I thought Cry On was meant to be set in a barren desert environment.

No...Infinite Undiscovery is desert themed.....Atleast from it's trailer.
No screen has ever been shown from a post-LO Mistwaker game thus far, except for this.
Back from the dead, I'm afraid.

360 is king so far.... and if ff13 is better then all 360 rpgs (which it will be) then to me ps3 is king.... and PSP has so many ports that it matter not to me. but yes 360 and DS have more rpgs but NOT better. |
Fix'd
I'm not really sure hwo you come to the conclusion the PS3 has better RPGs when said RPGs haven't been released. Higher caliber maybe, but better? You can't go about arguing that without a pinch of fanboyism.

I think Microsoft deserves its due in regards to this genre. This is the role playing console of this generation. They have the volume, they have the star power, and they have followed a strong delivery plan. I think its rather indefensible the lack of attention both Sony and Nintendo have brought to this problem. Microsoft has done right by the fans while the others haven't and they should be recognized for that.
When you say Final Fantasy like its a vile curse against Microsoft you expose your true colors. Are you a fan of the genre or are you merely a fan of Final Fantasy. I think it is probably the latter, because if you were a true fan you would be hurting desperately. Like wise attacking a developer when you haven't even played their games is juvenile at best. Didn't you mother ever ask you this question how do you know you don't like it if you haven't even tried it. Have you played Blue Dragon? Have you played Lost Odyssey? Well if you haven't they are very good games, and they show a great deal of care.
The style is definitely interesting however I wonder if this is concept art, cinematic snap shots, or real time footage. That makes a huge difference.
| MDMAniac said: Guys, what's so amazing about this concept art? I don't mean trolling, but would you explain? For me it looks like some crap :( Yeah they look somewhat artistics, but what's interest in "playing" them? Do you find some atmosphere behind them or what? |
The second pic is kinda meh. The first pic however I love the use of color. I also like how all the vegatation doubles as animals. Trees look like giants, dragons, and griffons. Even the roots look like little dragons. Very interesting as concept art.
This looks awesome. Mistwalker are becoming one of my favorite studios this gen, lets hope their games get increasingly better sales. IMO any argument that the ps3 has better RPG's is just silly. the 360 kinda wins by default in regards to RPG's (both western and Japanese). Sure that may change, but who knows what the future holds? Many people didn't think the wii would win this generation, look how that turned out.
Assumptions about the future are irrelevant to the present situation.
I'm really liking the art syle btw. Lets hope Japan eats it up when its released.

If you say it looks like a folklore rip off, you could say that almost every JRPG with a bit of colour in a darkish sort of world (which is like 90% of JRPG) looks like Folklore. I personally don't see the comparison, Folklore was really boring in nearly all aspects, I like the artistic style of this one.
PS3 fanboys only make the comparison in order to make the game look like crap, like folklore is, before they even show actual ingame stuff. Way to make your agenda so obvious people.
As a side note, the most recent KZ2 thread one sony fan posted their dislike of MS fanboys trolling that forum and how no sony fanboys do this one. Looks like he/she was way off.
| tombi123 said: It looks like the craptastic Folklore... as Starcraft would say. What other games have mistwalker done? |
Lol, I was going to argue, but that really is the kind of thing I would say about Folklore. Folklore took much of it's artsyle from Fable.
starcraft - Playing Games = FUN, Talking about Games = SERIOUS

From IGN:
"Cry On takes place in a world where people live amongst giant sand creatures. Sally is in the company of one of them, a creature named Bogle, and fights alongside it. Although normally tiny, Bogle can transform into a giant beast to fight. He'll do so when Sally is in danger."
I guess I picked up on the sand creatures part and assumed it was set in a barren desert.
