After having played the full version for some hours (GamePad is recharging right now):

Anything but a 11 of 10 doesn't justice Splatoon.

Its ashame that some youtuber "get it" why Splatoon is so special when the traditional game media doesn't...

It's possible, for sure. This could be a Smash Bros. situation where the original sets the foundation and is well-received, but the sequels go the extra mile and are critically acclaimed.

Exactly.  81 is more than enough for a new IP and its already a success for Nintendo regardless of sales because they tried something different and it worked.

I think it´s pretty clear that the game has convinced the vast majority of the critics even with the lack of content and missing features on day 1.

And fans shouldnt feel bad about the review because they got the mechanics of the game right.  I am sure that if they fixed the content problem in the sequel, they might hit 90+.

Splatoon with more content easily could be 90 game, but I guess 81 with less content currently is very good.

Exactly.  A sequel should have no problem doing that.

Well, I called this :P

Still, good solid scores. And there are some tens from Metacritic approved sites that haven't been added yet so the 81 is pretty secure.
