I am not impying anything.

I am saying, for the tenth and final time, the day one review reviews day one content.

Just as is with every other game in existence.

Once the DLC is out, reviewers can then review that DLC and score it either separately or combined. If uou don't understand what I'm saying, check out Metacritic for games like Battlefield, CoD or even single player games like The Evil Within for example. They have review scores for the base game that shipped day one, and then they have reviews for DLCs.

So, when DLC hits, reviewers can actually review what they get, instead of guessing a month or three in advance. And then when people go out and buy Splatoon for Christmas, they can read reviews of all the content available at that moment.

A very simple concept, and I don't understand why it is so problematic.

Because the hype was too strong and the score is too low for some ppl, so logic is distorted to make excuses sound like reasonable opinions.

OT: a little lower than I expected, but my fears have been confirmed. Okish game overall according to the critic.

Not at all. I figure I should just say what you want me to say and be done with it. Since there's really no point arguing this further with you.

And I take this comment of yours as confirmation of baiting. Thanks.

Then you should simply say the truth, being that the content complaints are not legitimate because no one is actually gonna be paying $60 for just the content currently being reviewed.

You can't expect a serious response with the comment you made.

A 71 is an Okish game.

An 81 is a good game.

I don't think many people are really complaining about the scores...there is just a discussion going about some of the logic behind criticisms (which is kinda the point of a review thread, is it not?)

As for you "fears confirmed" comment, I take it you haven't actually read many (if any) reviews, because the consensus seems to be that the base game is extremely strong, the single player is a ton of fun, the multiplayer is wonderful, but all the content is not yet there and some common features are missing. For the vast majority of websites, an 8/10 is considered "Great", and the text of the reviews back that up.

Eurogamer is going to give a 6/10 at best when you see the pre-review which even criticises the gameplay...

Like Goodnightmoon said it's very unlikely they'll bother reviewing a map per week, hence most of these reviews will quickly lose relevancy. They'll still be whining about only 5 maps while we will soon have then already have 14.

My fears were the following: 1) lack of content; 2) lack of online features/poor online management. And the 2 reviews I read confirmed these, which are pretty much the only weaknesses of the game. Splatoon is good, yes, but it could have been much better with little effort. Ofc this is the first time a Nintendo team tries something like this and they will get better, I'm sure, but as of now I believe that the score is fine considering what the game offers.

This my huge problem with gaming journalism in general a site can be called FNintendo and be taken serious and lumped into MetaCritic. Sort of not fair for Nintendo and probably be removed when rating Nintendo games

Oh that Leadified is a slippery fellow. But I'm glad you have claimed this thread. Still expecting low 80s (let's say 81 for your OP), but fingers crossed for some good scores!

Either way it should be interesting, and because this post is a bit sparse I'm going to add a nice picture to break it up:

Woah :o
