Me, never had that issue with Splatoon. You better stay away from GTA V than. That is far worse, if you get dizzy from Splat.

This game seems like it would get old quick. Not try pour salt in anyone's kool-aid I just feel like it could be a mini game in Mario party. It must be something I'm not getting. To be honest though I've only seen a couple videos. Could anyone tell me why they are hyped about it?

You're killing people. Making a mess with paint. It's almost like playing a super soaker game. That's my reasons why it's fun.

Here is the official Splatoon thread. Please try to stay on-topic.

I didn't have that issue, but you can try the demo and look how it works for you. I played it without the gyro controlls, so, maybe, in that way the camera movements are not so fast. It's a very fast-paced game, but I wouldn't call it tense, at least, the Turf War mode. MK8 wins in that aspect, when I get hit all the time in a race I lose my temper XD.

This is what a Splatoon based minigame in Mario Party would look like...

This is Splatoon:

Never has a game made me dizzy or disoriented in any way. I notice some people have that problem with games. Never understood it though XD it might just be how sensitive you are with certain camera movements.

The game is fine, if it bothers you, you can just turn motion controls off and play it like any other shooter.

The matches are 3 minutes long, but it's fairly laid back, not as tense as games like CoD or Battlefield. It's all light-hearted, especially as there's no way for people to yell at you.

Mario Kart 8 is a lot more tense and nervous than Splatoon.

The thing is that in Mario Kart (and in many other online games, including shooters) you can practically ignore all of the other players most of the time. There is only a 'confrontation' when you see an opponent. In Mario Kart the other racers almost don't matter at all unless they use an item. Other than that you're just trying to avoid them or to hit them. In online shooters I tend to spend about 20 seconds looking for someone to shoot at and then being killed in one shot by someone I didn't even see from halfway across the map. The exception being Team Fortress 2 which I wasn't too bad at, not great but at least I wasn't dying constantly. I would usually pick the sniper which made the game feel more slow-paced.

In Splatoon your true opponent is the ground and you ought to be shooting at it 100% of the time, only stopping to move and to charge your ink. There are other ways to play, but they don't seem as effective.

So basically you don't like confrontation then? Sounds like Turf War + Roller is for you my friend! While the shot and especially the charger type weapons will likely have you taking out other players, with Roller types it's better to stay away from fire fights and cover ground behind the enemies backs.

There has already been a few replies to this but this isn't the thread to talk about what the game is or what's so good about it, unfortunately all it will do is derail the discussion. As suggested there is the official thread or you could make your own topic about it.

I indeed do, but commentors usually always say that the game has such easily controls and feels great especially since they considered it to be super complicated, that I'm starting to think that this would be a different story if one actually plays the game.

Not exactly how it works, upon meeting an enemy they WILL shoot at you, and probably chase you also. Killing an enemy causes them to spray your teams ink all around them, and knocks them out of the match for a few seconds, thus painting the ground for your team, while making sure your team has a temporary advantage in the amount of ground you can cover as you have more players on the field.

Long story short, killing = winning.

Honestly, no i dont have this problem at the global test fire
