I didn't have that issue, but you can try the demo and look how it works for you. I played it without the gyro controlls, so, maybe, in that way the camera movements are not so fast. It's a very fast-paced game, but I wouldn't call it tense, at least, the Turf War mode. MK8 wins in that aspect, when I get hit all the time in a race I lose my temper XD.
