The camera shakes so much I can hardly stand to look at it. This has been bothering me for a while but I've never seen anyone else complain about it. I'm pretty sure it's not standard for third-person shooters, I haven't had this problem before. I don't know if it's because of the gyro controls causing the camera to be 'unsteady' (as unsteady as the hands holding the GamePad), or the nature of the game encouraging players to make broad and quick movements to cover as much ground as possible.

I haven't played the game yet, so I'm hoping that once I'm in control this won't be an issue. Or maybe it won't be so bad for roller and charger weapons, as the splattershot seems to be the one that requires the most motion. That would be a drag as it would make all of the single-player content physically uncomfortable for me to play. I'll just turn off the gyro and hope for the best.

The game is also really fast. Watching the Test-Fire footage makes me feel tense and anxious. I don't want to play the game like that, even if it means I won't be very good at it I'd rather just take it easy. I guess that's why I suck at online shooters.

Personally, no, but I can see why you would have that problem. I find FPS games to be more disorienting tbh.

Hmm, interesting.

When I played the game, I never felt dizzy, even when the camera was all over the place, and with the fast paced action and what not.

Try to play the Global Testfire this Saturday, and see if you still feel dizzy when playing the game.

"Just for comparison Uncharted 4 was 20x bigger than Splatoon 2. This shows the huge difference between Sony's first-party games and Nintendo's first-party games."

The game is fine, if it bothers you, you can just turn motion controls off and play it like any other shooter.

The matches are 3 minutes long, but it's fairly laid back, not as tense as games like CoD or Battlefield. It's all light-hearted, especially as there's no way for people to yell at you.

Mario Kart 8 is a lot more tense and nervous than Splatoon.

A lot of games do that. Heck, watching Minecraft makes me dizzy. But when you are playing it, it doesn't have that affect.

Nope, I didn't feel dizzy watching or playing this game. I may suck at shooters but they never seem dizzy or disorientating to me.

I can see how gameplay video with motion controls could look dizzy for some people since it took me a while to get use to them in the demo. The Y button is definitely helpful if it feels uncomfortable at the start since it resets the gyro control position and acts like the camera reset button in Zelda.

Not really

The thing is that in Mario Kart (and in many other online games, including shooters) you can practically ignore all of the other players most of the time. There is only a 'confrontation' when you see an opponent. In Mario Kart the other racers almost don't matter at all unless they use an item. Other than that you're just trying to avoid them or to hit them. In online shooters I tend to spend about 20 seconds looking for someone to shoot at and then being killed in one shot by someone I didn't even see from halfway across the map. The exception being Team Fortress 2 which I wasn't too bad at, not great but at least I wasn't dying constantly. I would usually pick the sniper which made the game feel more slow-paced.

In Splatoon your true opponent is the ground and you ought to be shooting at it 100% of the time, only stopping to move and to charge your ink. There are other ways to play, but they don't seem as effective.

This game seems like it would get old quick. Not try pour salt in anyone's kool-aid I just feel like it could be a mini game in Mario party. It must be something I'm not getting. To be honest though I've only seen a couple videos. Could anyone tell me why they are hyped about it?
