Had two instances yesterday of the Red Shell failing for seemingly no reason, one of which you can see at 0:36 in the video below. I still had my shell I was dragging behind so that couldn't have been what stopped it.

The second unfortunately wasn't captured in the 1-minute length replay, only the full race version, but I've still got images to tell the tale.

So here you can clearly see I have no item to defend with while the Red Shell is on it's way.

Here it's made contact with me and I'm thinking I'm hit, but...

it shatters from contact, and...

I get away completely unscathed! Dunno how or why these events happened, but I'll take it!

I noticed something like that happening with my races. Usually when I'm in first place. I'll get red shell warnings and then they will just disappear. I also tossed a red at someone and it failed. It was mind boggling. I assumed it was hax. The dude did have over 20k points.

i got something like this too the past days. also noticed that online was alot more laggy past days, i guess there is some problems with nintendo network. Shouldnt happen offline right?

This happened to me once before while playing online. Seems to be an online thing, it never happened to me on SP before.

I had some issues with the antigravity speed boosts when colliding with the stationery obstacles.. Sometimes, I would get stuck inside one for a few moments

That happens when I throw red shells all the time. Answer: Lag :D

Yeah, lag, they probably crashed into into barrels or trees in those scenes.

And the effect of lag is probably more significant at 200cc.
