Forums - Gaming - Did Ubisoft Switch Marketing Deal Again From Xbox One to PS4 with Assassin’s Creed Syndicate?

If true then Ubisoft is quite the promiscuous publisher. However the article is derpy and their evidence is repugnant.

Here is a theory I have had since last gen. The reason Sony went with a shorter box so was that it could not e placed behind the taller 360 box. Ms went with a shorter box this gen to get rid of that disadvantage.

Wouldn't surprise me if this were true.

*facepalm*

Yeah, they made the HD-DVD and Blu-Ray disc cases small like that because they didn't want future games to be behind bigger cases in ads and other promo stuff...

I dont think you know anything about marketing. Shit like that is totally realistic.

Do tell. If you know that much. I like to be entertained.

The cases are smaller because they use less plactic this way, and in turn, cost less to make. That size also makes it easier to differentiate Blu-Rays from DVDs.

I don't think you know anything about the history of Blu-Ray. You should try reading some of it. That would help you not buy into those stupid conspiracy theories.

Maybe this is why sony are not worried about not having an exclusive?
Black Ops 3, Battlefront 3, Assassins creed marketing/bundles.

Whats next? FUT legends PS4 exclusive?

Wouldnt surpirse me, EA realises that partnering with xbox was not a smarte business descion. When you advertise with xbox you leave out the rest of the world.

It has Blu-ray cases because the media was Blu-ray.

XBO has now moved to higher capacity media, so XBO boxes are now also in different packaging to DVDs.

RIP Dad 25/11/51 - 13/12/13. You will be missed but never forgotten.

People were obsessing over the marketing for BO3 (including me) and now they're doing the same for this lol.

If Ubisoft WANT sell, it will go with PS4 market.

Conspiracy? Lol please. That hardly qualifies as a conspiracy. If you wanna talk conspiracy let me know.

What he was saying, is that during the previous gen Sony had changed over to a smaller case so that on multiplatform ads, the Sony version always needed to be in front since it would not be visible behind a full sized DVD case.

Actually, if the blue ray cases were made to differentiate from DVD cases (which they were, I'm not even arguing that) then you're kind of proving our point - that the blu ray format as a whole had a smaller design to attract attention over the DVD counterparts. Which is bringing our discussion full circle lol. The design makes the cases more prominent in ad space. More visible.

"The cases are smaller because they use less plastic"

Well they certainly aren't smaller because they use more plastic. Cost savings is another benefit. There's more too, like the consumer having extra room to store more physical media in a cabinet. Regardless of the matter, their games did appear in front last generation in ad space and that is not something that can be argued. Anything else is speculation.

And here you go and take things out of context to adjust them to fit your narrative. The fact that you quoted me this way, at the end of your comment, makes it obvious your one kid I shouldn't bother myself with.
