Forums - Gaming - Challenge: A Trip Down Memory Lane

I'm at my childhood house for a few days as I am in transition between being back from University and moving to a new job. Decided to raid the attic to see what old gaming stuff had accumulated there, and what had gone missing, since I moved away. I challenge everyone to dig out all their dusty material from storage to see what your childhoods were made of.

Consoles:

Found a Commodore 64, a PS1, a PS2, a SNES, 2 NES', and a Wii. All have plenty of controller/memory cards (where needed) and are in working condition. Unfortunately I am missing a PS1 and a PS2. Not sure where those disappeared to. I think there were discs in them too :'(

Games:

A picture with a few of them:

Commodore 64 games: Waaaayyyyyy too many to name. I figure I have over 250 games there on different floppy disks, including Grog's Revenge, Frantic Freddy, Hardball, Spy Hunter, Barbarian (Ultimate Warrior), Donkey Kong (very first one), Pacman and countless others. Can't say that any are missing.

NES: Super Mario Bros/Duck Hunt, 1943 (Battle of Midway), Rad Racer, Where's Waldo (which my dog chewed up), and The Little Mermaid. Looks like I am missing a few here including TMNT, Super Mario Bros 3, and Excite Bike.

SNES: Just Super Mario Kart and Donkey Kong Country. Everything else is gone. I wasn't too familiar with the SNES though (those are the only games I played) so I think we may have lost/sold all the games a while ago.

Playstation 1: Spyro the Dragon, Mort the Chicken, Jampack Demo Disc (man I loved Jampack), another demo disc from who knows where, and High Heat Baseball 2000. Missing are Crash Bandicoot 2, Twisted Metal 2, Tekken 3, Gran Turismo 2, Tomb Raider and a few others.

PS2: ALL OF THEM ARE GONE!!! I think they may have been traded in :'( but I will have a further look for them later. Missing are Gran Turismo 4, THUG 2, NFS Underground, Sonic Collection, Project Snowblind, Metal Gear Solid 3 and countless others :(

PC: I found Theme Hospital, Age of Empires, King's Quest VII, Schizm, Dark Fall, Syberia, Black and White, 5 different NFS games, Madden 05 and some Trucker game haha.

Wii: SSBB, MarioKart Wii, COD4 Reflex, Just Dance 2, Wii Sports + Wii Sports Resort, some shitty Zumba game, Madden 12. All I really played was SSBB and MK so I'm not too phased here.

MOST IMPORTANTLY THERE IS NO GBA OR POKEMON EMERALD :'(

That's all I could find. So much stuff I forgot I had but also a lot of stuff that is nowhere to be found anymore. Digging up this stuff brought up a lot of good memories. Sooooo much nostalgia.

Can't wait to see what everyone else has hiding away in their house!

I have nothing left of my childhood gaming. Don't tease me.

I feel you. Only my Wii and DS games, and some of them suck/don't even work.

Bet with bluedawgs: I say Switch will outsell PS4 in 2018, he says PS4 will outsell Switch. He's now permabanned, but the bet will remain in my sig.

NNID: Slarvax - Steam: Slarvax - Friend Code:  SW 7885-0552-5988

That sucks guys. I guess I'm pleasantly surprised that I had half the stuff that I do

The earliest console I still have is the PS2. My PS1, GBA and GBA SP are all gone.

Had extensive exposure to the GameCube and DreamCast as a kid, but never actually owned them.

I have every console I've ever owned. Atari 2600, NES, SNES, PS1, Dreamcast, PS2, PS3, Vita. I have a fair number of Atari carts, though some were ruined by the weather.

I mostly rented and borrowed with the NES and SNES, so I don't have a ton of games for those. Probably no more than twenty combined. A Link to the Past, Final Fantasy I, and Final Fantasy VI are my treasured carts from that era. I can't even remember what else and I'm not sure where they are. I know I have Duck Hunt and like 3 Super Mario games. Oh, and NBA Jam.

I've lost several PS1 and PS2 discs, like FF VII and FF VIII. Let's see what's on the shelf:

PS1 - Alundra, Suikoden 1, Suikoden 2, Gran Turismo 2, Breath of Fire 3, FF IX, Soul Blade, Persona, Madden 98 (wow, not mine, wonder who I borrowed it from), Star Ocean 2nd, Lunar Silver Star Complete, FF Tactics, FF Anthology. I probably have more in a box somewhere that I didn't care about as much.

DC - Crazy Taxi 2, Sega GT, Space Channel 5, ChuChu Rocket, Evolution, Maken X, Jet Grind Radio, and an unopened Shenmue.

PS2 & PS3 - way too many to name.

This really, really makes me remember how awesome the PS1 was. The first console to blow me away.

There are no consoles in my storage, they're all being used and loved by me <3

I'm sorry your thread was confined to sad stories of people who envy you. I expected people to show up with their nostalgia collections.

No problem man don't take me the wrong way. I just feel bad that you guys don't have your older systems anymore that's all

You realize that thing on the left is not a console, right?

“It appeared that there had even been demonstrations to thank Big Brother for raising the chocolate ration to twenty grams a week. And only yesterday, he reflected, it had been announced that the ration was to be reduced to twenty grams a week. Was it possible that they could swallow that, after only twenty-four hours? Yes, they swallowed it.”

Yea but it doesn't bother me too much having it listed as one. I played lots of games on it during my childhood so close enough lol

So did i, my smart assed remark was aimed at the fact that it is the disc drive and not the actual commodore computer

I should have my Amiga somewhere in the attic, and have my original Playstation right here, but i only ever bought 2 games for it :)
