The sad truth is that this game exists and it's canon, hurting the franchise by disregarding the events of the prime trilogy, by telling one of the worst, most dumb storylines ever and by completely destroying the main character betraying the personality previous games had build.

I bet money they retcon it out somewhere down the line.  Probably within the next game or two.  Just stick it off to the side in its own alternate continuity :P

That would be the right decision and if nintendo cares for it's franchise they should do it .

Noice, I enjoyed the first one, decent platformer, but with some issues. I'm hyped.
