Iwata was such a great man but most importantly a big gamer and that's what I most respect about him. You will never see a CEO of any company do the things Iwata did like appering in every single direct he could, the Iwata asks, fighting with Reggie anime style in the 2014 nintendo digital event, taking a pay-cut when the company was going trough hard times, the list goes on and on. All does things Iwata did show how humble he was and how despite the big position he had he never forgot who he really was: a gamer, one blessed with a job that allowed him to share his passion with gamers around the world. Iwata we will never forget what you did, thanks. R.I.P

I'm so angry and sad... And I certainly didn't expect it to show externally until my girlfriend asked me what was wrong...

I'd like to think I'm not completely cold and heartless, so I'll be paying my respects to Iwata by using his Mii for a bit, giving it the name RIP Iwata.

I just woke up, and as usual, went to see my morning game news.So believe me when i say that i was totally shoked when i saw the news of Mr Satoru Iwata passing. So i decided to come here to pay my tribute.
And to be quite honest, i dont know what to write. He was a great programmer, a great president(he cut his pay in half during these troubled times nintendo is passing) and a great man.All i can say is, while i never met the man in person, i feel like he shaped me into the person i am today, through his work in his games.Thank you for all Iwata. For the work you have done, for your determination in your company, but most of all, for the memories you gave me.

My (locked) thread about how difficulty should be a decision for the developers, not the gamers.

^this. This so much.

While I think we all knew he had health troubles and underwent cancer treatment, his death comes as a complete shock for me. He has shown so much dedication and enthusiasm for Nintendo and the industry as a whole. He worked almost up until his death, which is something very very few of us would have done. I guess I thought he was better, recovering, and doing well, when in truth he was just too dedicated and humble to give up working. My sympathy goes out to his family. I hope they had the time to say goodbye.

The little thing I will miss the most, now that he is gone, are the Iwata Asks, which I loved.
