After dropping the game twice, I decided to finally try to beat Bravely Default (so then I can play the Second demo)
..and I beat it! (sort of)
Not liking to leave unfinished quests behind, I have been fighting all the optional bosses since chapter 5 but despite being level ~65 I still had difficulty fighting some of them (which, along with the terrible story, made me drop the game) So this time to make things easier, I decided to play on Easy just to beat the game.
Story repitition is terrible in order to pad out the game and fighting the same bosses over and over isn't very interesting despite seeing some changes in pairings with the optional ones. Learning that using x too much could destroy the crystal, I tested it out and found out that it actually lead to the destruction of the crystal and jumps to the finale. However, since I wanted to finish all the side bosses first, I decided to take this route for the last crystal in chapter 7. The plot twist is a neat idea, breaking the conventional 4 crystals to save the world jrpg but the story itself was rather bad. (Was spoiled too so that didn't help, thanks Basil..) Having an optional route was a neat idea too
However, the game itself is good so rather than beating the game for the sake of beating it, I have been taking my time to get things like genome abilities and mastering many classes. Have logged over 80 hours and will continue to beat the game through the normal route (am on chapter 8 now..)
