The point of the user was that Driveclub got "bad" reviews because it lacked content. It got "bad" reviews because it was nothing special and its online didn't work.

No, the point was that Driveclub got free content updates post launch and that those didn't fend of the criticism of lack of content at launch and that the game didn't get extra points for the free updates either.

The criticism I heard the most was poor online during the launch period, poor AI and oversaturated genre (i.e it didn't bring anything new to the table).

Reviewers should be saying whatever they feel like saying *snipped everything else since all that you're saying boils down to this sentence*

Not if they want to make a good quality review that's relevant to the people using it to make a decision. I'm under the assumption that most reviewers try to do this, as if not, I don't know what the heck are they doing then.

+GameXplain Good, I don't spoilers... Also, how fun is the Splatoon single-player mode so far?

You apparently also hadn't heard that the game had announced free post launch DLC before the game was out, so how is what you've heard relevant? The complaints based on a lack of content where there in several reviews.

So you're saying a quality review should completely ignore the story mode present in the game and just focus on the gameplay? Then why offer a story mode in the first place?

Today Hobby Consolas said that they were actually very impressed by the big dimension of the single player. The levels are getting longer and longer and very complex, they said. They liked it a lot.

I didn't follow the game pre-launch (so disregard my earlier comment on the free dlc, I was wrong), but did watch the reviews on youtube and those complaints were mentioned the most. Although I watch a lot of independent reviewers.

Where did you get that from? I've only said the campaign wont be a reason why it loses points based on their impressions, not that it wont be talked about because of course it will.

But why not if the campaign turns out to be bad? Just a mere throwaway thing like I said? That's precisely what happened to Battlefield 3. An online-oriented game who got criticised because, well, the campaign was an atrocious affair.
