Is this a prediction or a wish?
Because you only have to read any impressions or previews or the game to know that is easiest for splatoon to get a 95 than a 65.

I dont care about this game to "wish" anything, i am simply participating in the thread? Its what i think it would get. Everything i see it screams boring and meh to me, from the artstyle to the concept.

Not everyone likes the same things.

But this is Metacritic, not ClassicGamingWizzzCritic!!! Got to look past your review :0

Reviewers also shouldn't add points for content they haven't played. Review what's there and not what's promised to be there in a couple of weeks/months.

Yeah and what's there is already an 80 average at the least. Also, anyone considering picking up Splatoon is gonna be taking the upcoming content into account, so for a review not to would only make it less relevant, ex: I don't care that you think 5 maps isn't enough when there'll be 10 by the time I pick up the game with more coming.

So how do you expect reviewers to take the later maps into account? Sure they can give you a number but they can't let that influence their review and a good reivewer is going to think of that, you can't review a game as if it has 10 maps if you've only actually been able to play 5.

Why did reviewers review Halo: MCC before the online launched? 87% for a game that still doesn't work well. So they obviously have no problem reviewing things they had no full access to at the time.

Did that help Driveclub?

Driveclub's online didn't work well at launch and it was never announced up front that the game would be supported with free dlc. Plus a racing game at 30 fps? Lol.
It's lucky to even be that high. The AI isn't very good in that game either.

What was it? "If you want to bash something at least make sure you know what you're talking about?

No problem, I will quote you in 3 weeks and it will be funny.

Even if my prediction is way off do you think i will care and lose sleep about it ? sigh...

I think you missed the entire point^

When in the world have I ever given reviewers a free pass on what happened with the MCC?

None of those things was presented before, just a weapon and maybe some map in some ad, everything else are news from the last direct. We knew nothing about tower control and rainmaker until the direct, and nothing about the competitive matchmaking options, those are news to us, not promised content that is not going to be at launch, no. Everything that was promised is IN the game, but now we know there´s even more coming very very soon for free, it´s actually a plus.

I'm sorry but what are you arguing here? Someone said that reviewers shouldn't deduct points for the missing stuff that's supposed to come post launch and I said that they also shouldn't add points for it and that they should instead review the game for what it is at launch. Why are you telling me what's been promised at launch and what hasn't been? The conversation was specifically about the post launch content.

My point it´s pretty obvious. The game is actually finished, critics are not going to see the coming stuff as something that should be on the game, but as something that would make the game even better than what it is, and that is something that could lead to better scores. If you have 5good maps and 8 more are coming, you can easily predict that those are probably going to be good aswell and not to make a big deal about the low number at day 1. The new online modes can not be scored, but is promising and a clear sign of a game with a very long life and a great value per dollar, that leads to better scores too.

Doesn't change my other points. The game is lucky to have over 60% on metacritic with its broken launch.

It's just another racing game, the market is crowded with those. The game does nothing new.

Actually they should be seen as part of the main package since they are free, and you don't need to directly play the content to know if it's good or not, because you should already know, for as explained a billion times now, how good content is be completely dependent on the quality of the gameplay, which is fully intact day on 1.
