Forums - Gaming - How does everyone feel about breaking street dates and such?

Like do you get mad when someone gets the game early and start streaming? Or if you find a store that's selling the game early are you gonna get upset about it saying something like this "the player does not deserve the punishment. the companies do. they are the ones breaking the contracts of giving the game early. it is time to start taking companies to court and charging them."

"then if they do not want to be shut down. they would start following the street dates."

Context: I was having an discussion about twitch banning players that streamed the Witcher 3.

I don't see the big deal since I rely on these streams so I feel like wasting money on something I would not like.

How about you?

I think the stores that break the release dates are whores and the lucky people that play them are sluts. So yes, I do get jelly that the stores near my place try to keep their honor while in other places, they release it early

No, I don't really feel anything when a game's release is broken. I can safely say I was able to play some games early myself due to some connections I had. If a street date is broken, it's of no real concern to me.

If ever, will only get irritated at most because even when I preorder games, I almost always won't get it on Day 1 (hurray for bad shipping!) so it's not that big of a deal for me when other gets the game early..

However, I feel that retailers should respect the release dates set by the publisher because it's basically just a money grabbing tactic, and resorting to that just to gain more sales is a bit petty, imo.

Yeah, I do think it's a little annoying whenever stores and retailers break things like the release date.

"Just for comparison Uncharted 4 was 20x bigger than Splatoon 2. This shows the huge difference between Sony's first-party games and Nintendo's first-party games."

I don't like breaking street dates on purpose, but I don't mind it 'just happening'. If retailers need to send out copies early for them to arrive on time and they arrive too early, I don't have a problem with it. And sometimes accidents just happen.

Either way, early players shouldn't be punished as long as they got their game legally.

Dick move when done on purpose.

As long as the stores doing it are near me.

I think that once street date is broken, they should just let every other store break it aswell. If the game is done, its done. It makes no sense to hold it in ransom for a specific date.
