Here's hoping for a game like the first two. Playing the original again on Wii U VC right now...just making me hate Sticker Star and the Wii one even more. :p

I must be the only person that liked Sticker Star

No experience points=no reason to battle non-bosses, as you're just wasting stickers. 

And for the bosses, they all required a specific "Thing" sticker to defeat...which at times seemed completely arbitrary and obtuse. And if you didn't have the right "Thing" sticker with you, you were pretty much screwed against each boss' insane HP. So you had to go all the way back to the shop to make the right "Thing" sticker, or go on a wild goose chase looking for the object to turn INTO the "Thing" sticker if you didn't already have it. Honestly, the most tedious and frustrating "puzzle" system I've ever dealt with in any game, I think. 

No partners/party members was a huge disappointment, too. Removed much of the charm and hilarious dialogue that the first two games especially had. You can blame Miyamoto for that one, since he stuck his nose into development and essentially told Intelligent Systems that characters should be how they are in the "canonical" Mushroom Kingdom (ie. all goombas and koopas are "bad"...so they can't be partners even though practically EVERY partner in the first two games was a typical Mario "baddie." That was what was so great about them! It was fresh!) 

The game looked and sounded great, and the sticker idea could have worked well, but the execution was flawed. And Miyamoto's meddling removed much of the charm normally present in Paper Mario games. 

I hope SO MUCH that that isn't the case. Mario & Luigi RPG is fine...(though the 3DS one bored me to tears with all of its bland text and endless tutorials), but Paper Mario is so much more charming and clever. They've been experimenting with Mario & Luigi too...maybe they could make that more of a platformer, since they had those platforming "dream" sections in the most recent title...and then let Paper Mario be more of a pure RPG again.

Nice. I'll check it out if it happens. But haven't we learned anything from these 'leaks'? They almost never pan out to be real.

Just thinking about Paper Mario is making me feel like starting the Wii one ver again and finishing it this time.  I had a lot of resentment toward that game because it wasn't what I wanted it to be, but I remember the writing being funny and it was a decent platformer.
