Forums - Nintendo - What is the best Nintendo market?

Opinion?

USA 44 68.75%

Japan 17 26.56%

France 3 4.69%

Total:64

What do you think?

In my opinion, 1990 to 2010 was USA of course... (expecially in 1995 to 2005)

But now, in 2015, what is for you the best market for Nintendo between USA, France, and Japan?

Overall, I'd say USA.

"Just for comparison Uncharted 4 was 20x bigger than Splatoon 2. This shows the huge difference between Sony's first-party games and Nintendo's first-party games."

Still is the US.

Edit: I mean, for home consoles. Japan is very obviously the best for handhelds.

I talk about Nintendo.

It depends. In units sold (and I suppose profits) the US is the best market, but if we're talking about marketshare, Nintendo has it better in Japan.

You know it deserves the GOTY.

Current Gen is pretty close in terms of shipments

Japan-21.29 million
Americas-22.16 million
Others-18.15 million

US and Japan

PC Specs: CPU: 7800X3D || GPU: Strix 4090 || RAM: 32GB DDR5 6000 || Main SSD: WD 2TB SN850

It's still the USA. Their current lack of success is primarily due to their own failures. It's not due to lack of interest in the United States.

In other words, no France... can you say between USA and JP?

Still the US, but it's taken a massive, massive hit.

Wii U is their lowest selling console here, and 3DS is far lower on a per year sales basis than the GBC, GBA, and DS were.
