Why are you so eager to defend Nintendo here? They have completely fucked up by not having voice chat. This not an opinion. This is not me picking on poor Nintendo. This a giant corporation with it's head so far up it's own ass that it can't even implement something as widespread for multiplayer shooters as voice chat. "But but but but you can use Skype." Everytime you play with your friends online are you going to call them all up and get everyone on Skype? And what are you going to do if someone has no way to use Skype while playing? Fuck them? No fuck that. Stop throwing out excuses like you're a kid who just came late to class. Nintendo doesn't need people on the internet to defend their honor. Iwata isn't going to curl up into a ball and cry himself to sleep because I said something negative about Splatoon. I didn't want to rant this long but I'm legitimately amazed that some people will go this far just to defend their favorite corporation.
Sigs are dumb. And so are you!

Sure, nobody complained about Goro being pre order DLC or about the easy fatality DLC... people only complain about poor, poor Nintendo.

You said games without voice chat have no community and no legs. I gave you plenty of examples and alternative methods of communicating. When life gives you lemons, turn them into lemonade. Don't rub them in your eyes. |
You're right. Splatoon won't bomb because it doesn't have voice chat. It'll bomb because it's on the WiiU.
And because it doesn't have voice chat.
Tee-hee.
Sigs are dumb. And so are you!

Yeah, how dare Nintendo give out free dlc!
Not sure why you're complaining though, since you didn't even know what this game was about. Nor do you own a Wii U.

A game with shitty gameplay will still be shit even with a million levels. Splatoon thankfully has great gameplay, similar to that of Smash Bros. and Mario Kart. Every battle is dynamic, fast-paced, and ever changing, with each one turning out differently from the last, even when played on the same map, and you always feels you have a shot a winning with comebacks being pretty doable, thus highly addictive. |
Too quickly is the keyword, and that is the critical part, too quickly could be 3, 6 or more hours for someone else since is very personal, with more content (maps, modes, weapons) you can reach a point when you never get bored or feel it repetitive, the lack of content will hurt ratings and the reason why is lacking is rushing the game to market because they want your money as soon as possible.
The game will be rated based on what is available and even if the gameplay is good (some people may not even like that part too much) but the content is lacking, the scores will go down, after all a review is a way of telling you if you should spend those hard earned dollars (euros, yenes, etc) on the game now or if it is better to let is pass. I think this approach is not a good idea and could create awful consequences in the long run.

It being on the Wii U is why no voice chat wont affect the community, because they're already used to not having it.
Not saying that not having voice chat for friends atleast isn't stupid, because it is.

I don't think lack of voice chat is a deal breaker, but It is a desired feature that will be missed. I know Nintendo likes to think on the small ones on the house, but I would like to see it even with some limitations like restricted to friends or something along those lines. I played a lot of Goldeneye 007 on my Wii and had a lot of fun without voice chat, but the strategies were kind of shallow since there was no way of coordinating the team.

The problem isn't Nintendo giving out that stuff for free, it's them releasing the game with all of that content missing and in terms of paid DLC Nintendo is good to go anyway, since the game launches with $30 worth Day 1 DLC on its own.
Oh and you repeating that stuff doesn't make it true, still fun to see how extremely bothered you are by someone criticising a game you like, I don't wanna see your reaction once someone criticises something actually important in your life.

Lol, sure.
I'm bothered because you always come here to shit on Nintendo yet you don't know one thing about their games.
| DerNebel said: The idea to support the game post launch is good, but the fact that this launches with 5 maps and basically only TDM as an online mode (I think, I watched the direct on friday but forgot that part) |
This is what you said. This does not sound like someone who misspoke. You forgot "that part"? You forgot the one thing this game is about? Yeah, ok. Sorry for not taking you serious. I rather take legitimate complaints into consideration of people who wanted to buy it, people who have been following the game.
