Despite all that's going on around it, I'm still planning to buy it day 1. I just feel like I'll still have a blast, even before the large amount of content drops in August.

15minutes of Shokio? I can't even handle thirty seconds of the guy.

Anyone got a tldr (or a reason to care because I can't find one)

He complains about lack of voice chat and all the modes not being available from day one. He is buying it used.

Good luck to him on that lol. First off, Nintendo developed and published games are fairly rare used, second to that, with it again being developed and published by Nintendo he is probably only going to save like 5 bucks off the new price. Might as well just get it new... this whole mind set of "I'm buying it used" just makes me shake my head. If the games ends up not being great, it will end up in a bargain bin in no time (even when they are good sometimes), and if it does end up really good there are far less used copies out there so the prices don't drop a whole lot from new. The basics of supply and demand people.

Gotta figure out how to set these up lol.

As much as I would like to buy it, my parents are already going to shell out a lot of cash for me around that time, so no day 1 for me unfortunately :(

And for anyone in the UK worrying about price, in Amazon UK its only £30, so I don't think price is an issue here AT ALL.

$80 AUD here.

For comparison, Advanced Warfare is $100 AUD.

OzGameshop have it for $50 preordered.

I'm weighing up preordering and waiting the few extra days for delivery vs. waiting and hoping that Target, Big W and/or Kmart pull some last minute bargains out of their arses.

Guess I'm one of the few who actually really likes Shokio in this community.

His complaints are understandable and he's got a great speaking voice IMO

He's obviously a Nintendo fan, that just wants better from them.

OT: I might play the demo if it's still available, but it won't be a day one for sure.

I actually think it looks quite fun but the lack of voice chat is a deal breaker for me. I like to talk to people when I play multiplayer.

So... you're one of those guys I hate! :P

From what I can tell, he doesn't care about the price. He's only getting it used because he wants to boycott Nintendo for no voice chat, amiibo-locked content and unfinished product at launch.

I haven't watched the video, and likely won't. Not a big shokio fan.

If he wants to boycott it, then feel free and pass on the game. Buying it used still isn't boycotting it lol. If he were to never touch it, that would be a sign of protest or boycotting. He will still end up spending money on it,the money will just go into someone else's pocket instead of Nintendo's, so that's still, again, not boycotting it.

Did he even try the testfire? Voice chat would be nearly a waste in this game. Between matches there wasn't usually even enough time to play squid jump, so voice chat would be useless there. Plus since teams are randomized it's moot while playing. The matches are too short to really develop much strategy other than ink as much as you can and get the other guys if they get in the way lol.

The extra content is still free with the exception of the amiibo stuff, but if that's his stance he should probably pass on all games for now on and in the future because almost everything has dlc and amiibo are basically physical dlc/expansions.

Unless I misunderstood, the extra content will start to be released pretty much right away and come in waves, the august thing is just the set date for the first big global tournament/theme thing or whatever you want to call it, similar to how MMO's do festivals and holidays. I will watch the direct again to confirm later. Even so, the extra content is still free at this point, not that much different from something like Destiny except you don't need to buy the expansion.

Loved it! Day one buy for me.

That squid-swimming thingy is just such a great idea.

It's fun, addictive, not boring at all, reguires skill, and loved the twists the paint gives to the team shooting fighting. Sometimes when you see an enemy and his backwards to you, you can't just shot him in the back. You háve to pursue him while painting the way to do so. I just loved it

I might buy day one if it were 30 bucks, MAYBE 40, but I don't have the money to pay full price for anything unless I absolutely just can't live without it. (New Zeldas for example.)

Without having played the demo my answer is a resounding maybe.

I am sure it WILL be a good game once all the content is out so I dont mind waiting.
In saying that I will buy it day one if it gets the usual nice launch price from about $64 (down from $80).
