possibility of 2 million in a week? that's pretty insane

Last time I actually bought a Smash Brothers game was on the N64. Have had no urge to buy one since, but you can't deny the popularity of this game.

In my personal opinion, Brawl will likely outsell its American debut, in Others, and yea, I'm serious.

I predict that if Brawl breaks 2m in Americas this week, then Halo 3's record is gone, according to VGchartz numbers, at least.

I know a while ago you put an extra day on the NA figures by mistake, which would suggest that the figures may be out there?

I think the best you can hope for is 600k first week for Europe. Putting WW first week at around 3.3M.

This is really great number. I think it won't beat Halo 3 first week but it should be close. Games in Others tend to have not as big openning, SMG for example sold only 200k on first week. I'm sure Brawl will beat SMG but I also think that it fall short of 1 milion.

Anyone knows what are others best first weeks? I checked FF games but the best number I found was 2.6 mln for FFVIII as most Others/American first week numbers are missing.

Outrageous rounding FTW!!

The 1M in Japan is actually 843K, the Halo 3 record is 3.84M not 3.8M. This adds 200K to the Europe launch week, making it 1M. 2M was first week shipments, ioi in his first post said between 1.8-2M first week for NA. Meaning in Europe SSBB will have to have a launch week of 1-1.2M to equal Halo 3's first week.

1.2M is more than SSBM sold lifetime in Europe and is about double what SSB sold lifetime. Also Europe is nowhere near as front loaded as either Japan or NA. Given that the SSB series has always been more popular in Japan, don't expect in your wildest dreams that SSBB will have a bigger launch week in Europe. Expect 400-600K.
