Forums - Microsoft - FIFA 15 now free on EA Access

So we have one person trying his hardest to downplay this? It's an improvement.

I didn't buy FIFA although my friend kept telling me to. I have a coworker who just purchased a Xbox One and the 1st thing I told him about was EA Access. He's a sports guy and couldn't believe he really didn't have to buy any games right away. Asked about Madden and especially FIFA. He'll be happy to hear this.

It will be nice when this service eventually makes its way to PS4 (assuming Sony cares about their consumers) so that these threads aren't filled with copious amounts of salt.

As for FIFA, that's great. It's a good game and millions still play it. I remember when this service was revealed, haters were claiming EA would only add years old sports titles. The vault is full of great games.

People always forget the discount on games and DLC, too. If you take the 10% discount into account, when you buy a new EA title, they're actually paying you $1 to try EA Access for a month.

Wish it was BF Hardline.

Really weak. Everyone even my grandma has already played this game. Paying £19.99 a year to get access to a game which has been bundled excessively and you can probably find for £15 now is overall very weak.

It seems you are just trying really bash this service because its not on PS4.. Your points are laughable and only seem to want to downplay the GREAT value that EA Access offers gamers.

Right now the value of games in EA ACCESS would cost you WELL OVER $150..   And this is at USED GAME prices.. NOT NEW..  So for $29.99 a year you have gotten over $120 in FREE games.   While you may not PLAY all these games..  you are NOT every gamer.  You can have an opinion, but it is NOT everyones opinion.

In the next few months when Hardline and Dragon Age are added to EA ACCESS the benefits will have almost doubled.

You are ALSO forgetting the FREE TRIALS of BRAND new games a week before they are released (these are not demos, but actually timed trials where your progress caries over if you buy the game)..  and the automatic 10% you get of ALL EA games..  That is $6.00 for every EA game that is $59.99 (this also works on all add-on purchaces.)..      So if you bought 5 EA games in a year.. EA ACCESS is FREE!!  FREAKING FREE!!!!

Anyways..  You bias is so evident.. its not even funny..      And.. I own a PS4 and an X1..  So .. no bias here.. I enjoy both systems and each have their negatives and postives..  I am not blinded by fanboyism. I see value when there is value..

And that's what makes EA happy. If they can sell more, they are giving less away for *free* while still earning the subcription money of those who subscribed. It's business. Companies can't be completely happy panda with their customers and expect to return a profit.

They can if they think long term. If they gave it away for free earlier and other games the increase in subscriptions over time would increase profits.

That makes no sense, a retail copy at £25 is equivelant to 6 months of ea access. Plus factoring in that no one is just subscribing for fifa.

If they were to give Madden, Battlefield and Fifa as well as games like Peggle and PvZ months earlier than 8-12 months, they would make money but much less than subs alone.

They want users to buy games + enjoy access benefits for games they do not buy. If EA spoils gamers by giving it 5 months after release, people will just wait for the ea access version.

I'm willing to bet that if EA Access was on PS4 also, we wouldn't be seeing Fifa 15 on EA access as it still sells a considerable amount on PS4, up till this day. No matter my fanboyism is evident so my opinion is invalid. When this method is picked up by other companies I'll highly doubt you'll see it as excellent value when you need to pay $30 to every publisher out there, every year especially if they start adding content which is exclusive to Access users.

I bet people said DLC was good value if you want more playing time on a game you love. Look at we are now, DLC costs half the game and the "game" being sold is almost incomplete withough the DLC.

Sony dont want it for two reasons, it arguably competes with its own IGC, and it may affect sales of retail EA games; PS4 is selling TP games well so they don't want to offset that money for what would arguably be a much smaller slive of the pie.

I feel though, if Access gets too good, Sony will jump on board. But they are tryna hold it off as much as possible.

It looks like they add their worn out annual titles here after sales are exhausted and they have almost no financial loss to lose from this; In other words, they're squeezing out that last bit of additional sales from the value conscious consumers.

It's here guys, if its making them money then EA Access isn't going away. Live and let live.

Which will drive more people to the service, and actually could have the effect of causing more day one buyers of a sequel if the game was really go-oh wait I just remembered who we're talking about.. never mind.

They want people on their service AND they want retail sales. ATEOTD, EA makes most of its money on these annual sports franchises, not within the first week, but long after. Why would anyone buy their games if 4 or 5 months later it was free? It would also cause less ps4 players to buy their games, either to move exclusively to the service on xb1 or just out of protest.
