They can if they think long term. If they gave it away for free earlier and other games the increase in subscriptions over time would increase profits.


That makes no sense, a retail copy at £25 is equivelant to 6 months of ea access. Plus factoring in that no one is just subscribing for fifa.

If they were to give Madden, Battlefield and Fifa as well as games like Peggle and PvZ months earlier than 8-12 months, they would make money but much less than subs alone.

They want users to buy games + enjoy access benefits for games they do not buy. If EA spoils gamers by giving it 5 months after release, people will just wait for the ea access version.
