That makes no sense, a retail copy at £25 is equivelant to 6 months of ea access. Plus factoring in that no one is just subscribing for fifa.

If they were to give Madden, Battlefield and Fifa as well as games like Peggle and PvZ months earlier than 8-12 months, they would make money but much less than subs alone.

They want users to buy games + enjoy access benefits for games they do not buy. If EA spoils gamers by giving it 5 months after release, people will just wait for the ea access version.

Which will drive more people to the service, and actually could have the effect of causing more day one buyers of a sequel if the game was really go-oh wait I just remembered who we're talking about.. never mind.

They want people on their service AND they want retail sales. ATEOTD, EA makes most of its money on these annual sports franchises, not within the first week, but long after. Why would anyone buy their games if 4 or 5 months later it was free? It would also cause less ps4 players to buy their games, either to move exclusively to the service on xb1 or just out of protest.
