That's some skill right there.
Must've ran into connection problems or something.

It was pretty fun. Unique, but pretty intuitive. The idea of being able to move more quickly through your territory and warp to your partners are interesting twists on the genre. Matchmaking worked ok for me at least. I'm still not completely convinced to drop 60 bucks on it, but it was certainly a pleasant way to spend an hour.

Listed as 60 anywhere I could find in the US. What are games normally in EU?

I got in over 10 matches easy. No issues.

Big AAA releases are usually 60€ - 70€. I think Smash and Mario Kart were around 50€. I've seen the splatoon special edition with Amiibo around for 45€ (Amiibo = 15€).
I'm thinking it is a way to get more people from EU to buy into Wii U and Splatoon. The US people are probably considered a lock. EU is their weakest region so I have to assume they are trying to encourage more sales there.
For 40 dollars I'd be pretty likely to buy it. The determining factor for me will really be the quality of the single player campaign I think.

I think it is also to counter any angst over the announced release model. They want to lock in their early sales and then use the release model to continue to draw in new customers throughout the summer.
Edit: oh you mean the pricing. That's probably correct. I was talking about the demo.
