...In that case, why do it in the first place?
Kickstarter is for companies who need Kickstarter. This Kickstarter would in no way improve the game and it would really only serve to squeeze money out of the more interested consumers.
It's Activision who should be kickstarting it not Sony as like you said, Sony does not own Crash anymore so them crowdfounding for a game they cannot make is pretty pointless.

No because even if it was done your way has a symbolic gesture, what you would get would be a lot of negative press along the lines of wtf was Sony thinking.
The reasons being kickstarter is seen as a way of getting projects that haven't got other funding options and Sony having that funding capacity would be seen has using kickstarter for their own ends .
The question of Sony making a spiritual successor of a game not owned by them done by a studio that doesn't (A)have the principle people that where involved with crash working there anymore .
(B) Sony would basically be forcing ND to make the type of game that they themselves stated had been taken has far as they could and that was said about both crash and later J&D after they spent time and effort on a PS3 version , All this done Via kickstarter just doesn't add up.
Now if you asked people if a Kickstarter from someone other than Sony , say an indie that built upon the things they loved about crash then you may succeed but that would have to be off the back of a demo/early access that showed that potential.
Research shows Video games help make you smarter, so why am I an idiot
Kickstarter is used for indie companies that need money for their projects, not to create hype for anything.

I think you're missing an essential part (it's even in the title)...

yes, im totaly for this, and they should charge 1$ for every hour you play a game, to make the price more fair, so people who play less pay less.
A spiritual successor would be amazing, but I don't think Sony would be the company that would need a kickstarter.
"Just for comparison Uncharted 4 was 20x bigger than Splatoon 2. This shows the huge difference between Sony's first-party games and Nintendo's first-party games."
