I agree too. While 2d games has been still fun lately, they're getting too easy now :(

Since the old KI was basically Metroid with some side scrolling shooter thrown in, I would say that Metroid Prime + 3D on rails shooter (Star Fox) would be a good mix.

Metroidvania style, with level ups and tons of items, Magical attacks, secret areas and the like. At first you might be able to only glide but as your wings get stronger double jump, gliding and eventually flying. Lots of Boss battles and tottally non linear exploration.

It is very exciting to see Pit featured so prominently in SSBB... I was thinking that I would really like to see an adventure game along the lines of Twilight Princess for the new Kid Icarus game. That and RPGs are the only real genres the Wii lacks but the first Kid Icarus game wasn't an RPG.. and there is clearly a market for adventure games.

I wonder if there will be a new Ice Climbers game also?

I'd say the perfect Kid Icarus title would be one third shooter, one third platformer, and one third Metroid-like adventure game (since they originally shared the same engine), but from a third-person perspective. Not on-rails, free-roaming, but with rails-like corridors every now and then, and gigantic bosses.

Maybe some kind of prequel.An emotionally driven JRPG/Zelda TTP mix in a world where Kid Icarus don't have his powers/abilities from the first game.At least at the beginning of this new game.The story should tell us who he really is(something about his family for example) and what his motives in life are,which finally leads him to be the Angel-hero we all know.I have simplified my ideas in order to save time and space in this post,but overall that would be the direction i would like to see the franchise to go,and not another pure action game.

I want a game near PoP:SoT, but with some flying gameplay and a different combat with arrows and all... That would be great!
