I have no doubt that Xenoblade Chronicles X will be a good game, but I've never played a game like that, so I'm not too hyped for it. Will probably buy it though, at least then I'll know if this is a game for me.

Have zero interest in a game like Devil's Third, I don't even understand why Nintendo is supporting this. It won't sell. How anout supporting third party developers that make games Nintendo fans like? Like you know, platformers or adventure games. Same with Fatal Frame V, it's way too niche.

I'm worried that Nintendo's direct will just focus on games we already know about like Mario Maker, Star Fox, SMT X FE, Yoshi's Woolly World, Fire Emblem if, Xenoblade Chronicles X, etc.

I don't expect many new game announcements, maybe one big one (Next Level Games).

So wait, what you're saying is "2015 has a good number of games, just not the ones I like so this year sucks"?  I mean, I agree Nintendo should have paced their releases better so that there was a better mix of Nintendo staples and new stuff, but that doesn't mean I'm going to crap on the games coming out.  Star Fox, Mario Maker, Yoshi, Splatoon, Devil's Third, Xenoblade Chronicles X, Fatal Frame V, and possibly SMTxFE are all coming this year plus probably some more things.  That's a pretty good lineup when you consider it's all exclusives.  And at least a couple are the kind of game you can sink hundreds of hours into easily.  Definitely not worse than 2013, that's for sure.  Comparable to 2014, but your taste is going to play a major part in that.

You're dealing with Delaytendo here... SMTxVFE is 2016 for the West. XBX will probably be delayed till 2016 in Europe and we haven't even seen a single screenshot of Star Fox, so that can be delayed as well.

Sorry for not jumping from joy for games like FFV and Devil's Third...

Couldn't care less either for the third 2D Mario platformer on the Wii U. With graphics that look bad even for the Wii (talking about the "modern" artstyle").

I was impressed with the information that came from the direct.

I haven't played a game that has used this model before, but it interests me.

I've got it pre-ordered, and am looking forward to it.

So the answer to my opening question is "yes."  Also, the Mario Maker modern style uses the same models and textures from NSMBU soooo...yeah.  And calling a year lame based on your assumptions is really silly.  When the delays happen, then you can whine.  Until then, just own up to the fact that you just don't like the games and be done with it.

Actually, they look worse, I'm amazed myself. NSMBU looked bad to begin with for the record.

I'm calling the year lame because we haven't gotten any great games yet this year. We're almost half way through.

FFV and Devil's third will be lucky to sell 200k copies in the West, so I'm not in the minority here.

Hey, we can get half of Splatoon in the end of May! And don't forget about XenobladeX. English build was so good on Treehouse last week.

Really don't get the issue here as I see this approach on PCs often, it makes sense as they want Splatoon to be an MK like title with one release each gen so content being released over the gen for free for community growth suits that vision well. It's actually a well thought out strategy.

No, that would have been the day.

Uh yes, all Splatoon's updates are free.

Yes I know. Meant it the other way around with a sarcastic flair. Blame the internet for not getting my tone across correctly .

How many PC gamers buy full priced games?

Agree. I think there´s only 2 persons here concerned about it, but they are loud. And for what I´m seeing people on the internet is happy about this direct.  Splatoon seems more promising than ever on the online side.

Seems like they couldn't finish the game in time so they decided to release content after for free and I'm totally fine with it as long as it is free
