Worst direct ever.

At launch we get:

- one online mode (the other is locked till enough players reach level ten)
- 5 multiplayer maps
- 28 singleplayer levels that each last around 5 minutes.

This game is going to bomb hard on metacritic. How did this take more than a year to develop?

Not to seem overly negative here, but that content does seem spread a little thin. Maybe they should have delayed this? But then again that wouldn't have pleased anyone either....this is at the very least an...interesting release strategy, reminds me of Destiny..

The difference is that the content released for this is free.

I'm kind of with Samus and Spemanig on this one, though maybe a little less emotionally invested because this game never really interested me anyway.

I really don't get the need for this staggered release, which it sort of is, I don't even know what to call it. I don't like where this is going. The trend of keeping stuff for updates and releasing incomplete games is toxic and pointless, and it has reached Nintendo. Everything they talked about adding is stuff that should have been in the game at release but isn't for an arbitrary reason that they can't even solidly explain without a cheap excuse. It's like Day One DLC, without it actually coming Day One.

Yes, but the additional content is free, and the game actually works. They're dipping their toes in the pool though, no denying that.

Because that's somehow Splatoon's fault...

It is Nintendo's fault.

2015 looks to be worse than 2013 and 2014, unbelievable.

True, let's hope that E3 is going to blow doors down. Though I think this and Xenoblade X are going to be absolutely AMAZING, Devil's Third I hope will kill it too, as well as the Worldwide release of Project Zero V.

Will be buying Day 1. Looking forward to the test fire too. The new features will be bonus. But I'm really looking forward to trying out the ranked mode. Has anyone started a clan yet?

TEST FIRE DAYS AND TIMES!

Not sure if anyone posted this, but let's get the word out!

But not the part of Nintendo making Splatoon, as they obviously had nothing to do with failing to secure third party support nor with games like Yarn Yoshi, Mario Maker, n SMTxFE taking longer than they should to release, infact Splatoon is one of the few Wii U games to meet it's target release, so blaming it for drought is laughable. It's also not their fault if you rely solely on the Wii U for your gaming fix.

I have no doubt that Xenoblade Chronicles X will be a good game, but I've never played a game like that, so I'm not too hyped for it. Will probably buy it though, at least then I'll know if this is a game for me.

Have zero interest in a game like Devil's Third, I don't even understand why Nintendo is supporting this. It won't sell. How anout supporting third party developers that make games Nintendo fans like? Like you know, platformers or adventure games. Same with Fatal Frame V, it's way too niche.

I'm worried that Nintendo's direct will just focus on games we already know about like Mario Maker, Star Fox, SMT X FE, Yoshi's Woolly World, Fire Emblem if, Xenoblade Chronicles X, etc.

I don't expect many new game announcements, maybe one big one (Next Level Games).

And then they wonder why nobody buys the Wii U with an attitude like that.

I also rely on 3DS, but that doesn't have games coming out for it either. Majora's Mask 3D is the only game I bought this year (and FE: A, but that was a 2013 release).

How much do we know about these really?
