Well for FY2014 they forecast 17m PS4 + PS4 in Mar 2014, increased it to 17.5m in Feb 2015 and ended with 17.9m in Mar 2015... that is why I believe they will revise these forecasts.

And yes PS4 will be up this year... it is already up in SOLD numbers until March 1... the shipment now shows only they decreased the units on shelves from ~1.4m to ~1.0m and not that they sold less (they in fact sold more PS4 this year than last year until March 1).

If they are using a bit of invenctory shipped in 2014 (400k) this quarter then you can expect a better shipment next quarter... we will need to wai.

Q1 FY14: 2.7m PS4 shipped.

If Sony continue to sell ~900k per month like they did in Jan/Feb/Mar then they will need to ship at least 2.7m again to hold a ~1m invenctory on retail.

sony ps4 sold through numbers are down 100k+ units in japan (tracked by media create and famitsu)
sony ps4 sell in numbers are down 600k units 

nothing! indicates, that sony is up in sold trough the first quarter of 2015 globally

That is why you don't use Globally in US or Globally in Japan data to make WW maths.

2014: 1.8m in 64 days
2015: 1.7m in 56 days

Unless you believe PS4 didn't sell 100k in 8 days then PS4 is UP yoy using the lastest sold thought data.

We can wait the next sold tought data.

PS. The sell in numbers are cleary saying they used invenctory shipped in Q3 FY14... that is why they did shipped less than last year... they sold 1.7 million in Jan + Feb... so they really sold more than 2.4m shipped this quarter (my personal estimates put sold thought for Q4 FY14 at ~2.8m).

VGChartz says that it sold 530k by now in 2015.

It is not a issue if Sony overshipped in Q3 FY14 and it is only working with the old invenctory.

PS4 shipped 2.4m this quarter but sold more than that too because they have 1.4m on shelves at end of 2014.

Just to make clear something here...

Sony is releasing two types of numbers for us:

Shipped: 22.3m as of March 31, 2015
Sold thought: 20.2m as of March 1, 2015

They are way different numbers to work with... and the dates are not comparables too.

No.

If you believe Sony only sold 700k PS4 in March with NPD showing 336k and Japan over 150k then fine... that is what left to reach 2.4m (the number of consoles shipped).

They decreased the units on shelves from 1.4m at end of the last year to about 1 million... it is normal after holidays.

Last year that didn't happen because they have less than 300k on shelves... they needed to increase invenctory.
