It's been proven with the likes of NMH and the Tales of games that 3rd parties sell better on PS consoles. Even Bayonetta.

That's not always the case...

Surely you don't think this is a geniune comparison. This is far more cherry picked than anything I've ever read on these forums. It's pretty amazing.

Not saying I agree with with the other people but you comparisons are very poor.

As were the comparisons he gave. Reasons for which games sell/don't sell typically don't matter to Lawlight, only the cold hard numbers. So that's what I gave him.

I think the statement to begin with was ridiculous. In Japan, whichever console a third party game is on doesn't really matter because the game is going to sell regardless. The differences in the end are insignificant.

Like I said, I don't agree with him either. I just wanted you to know that your comparison was very poor.

It is intentionally dramaticized to make a point.

I'm not trying to make a claim that 3rd parties are better off on Nintendo or whatever, just that games will sell no matter what as long as there's demand. This isn't the case in the west, but it definitely is in Japan.

So, we are basically comparing apples and oranges?

Tales of Symphonia - very late port on the PS3.

Shin Megami Tensei - well, before the Persona series made the SMT series relevant outside of Japan.

Resident Evil Revelations - Even though the PS3 version's sales was handicapped by the release of the 360 version, it's so close that, counting digital, the PS3 most likely sold more. There's a very good reason RE:R2 isn't on the 3DS.

Dragon Quest - sold better on the PS2 everywhere except Japan.

Your DQ point is irrelevant as The sales 90%+ come from Japan. Almost like MH, well intill MH4U came out in the West doing 1mil+

I definitely agree to a certain extent. There are cases where this isn't true, but they do exist. Even one of your examples has clearly reaped the benefits of being on Playstation. Fans of certain types of games flock to certain platforms. While there are always exceptions, I do think more than overall sales are important when discussing potential sales.

I've never said that. I'd be perfectly happy with more multiplatform games.
