I wouldn't call "team up" in Civil War, especially when Iron Man is so deemed on forcing Spider-Man to reveal his real identity. And I don't remember Spidey teaming up with someone in House of M (Wasn't that the parallel universe where Spiderman was an actor?). You're right about Original Sin and such, but that's beyond the point. He was never an avenger; I wouldn't mind a cameo or a helpful hand, but as far as I know, they're trying to make him an avenger in the movie. |
You are correct, he rejected their membership but was honorary member. YET around the time of Avenger Dissasemble (or just after) Bendis and I presume Joey Q came up with the fantastic idea of forming a 'New Avengers' team with all of Bendis' favourite characters plus some big names. One of those big names was Spider-man. He joined around then and has basically remained a member since, I'm not sure on how it's classed as 'Avengers' though. I don't think they were technically Avengers.
It was around the time that the Avenger's lost sense and also invited Wolverine, the murderenous murderer the MU has ever murdering seen, to join as well.
He was an actor in House of M but he was involved, he also was a superpowered person (people thought he was a mutant), Civil War (he reveal his secret only for that to be retconned later), Seige (can't have Osborne without the Spider) and others, not just as an Avenger.
Far too many cross over events in recent years to count, gone are the good days when you had good writing in main books followed by 1 big event a year. Now it's make room for these 3 or 4 big events a year and spin-offs, while trying to write a good story in your own book and failing.
Hmm, pie.
