Come on, it would be super lame if you could simply repair the Skells between the phases of chapter 12...

And it's definitely possible on foot under level 50, even without Ghostwalker. But you should learn the overdrive color combinations or use overdrive skills or augments.

Why would that be lame? The game already gives you the option to lower the difficulty after three failed attempts and in all other instances the penalty for failure is minimal. Then all of a sudden you won't get a chance for a retry without loading your save file.

Well, I don't like that there are no penalties for deaths outside of that chapter.

The only bad thing about it is that you have to go back to thetitle screen to load the save. That's probably because of those online squads.

For chapter 12, why can't I break Vita's shield

I've tried this so many times now, it just won't break for me.

You need to destroy the little robot in the middle of the field to destroy the shield

.... I actually was doing that last time, but died, assumed it was a stupid idea.

Just keep doing it, and fast because if I recall correctly vita recovers some health after a while

Looking at some of the posts here, it seems it was a good call for me to beat chapter 12 with 4 Level 50 Skells

I try, but it takes forever to go down, by which time Vita is back to almost full health, and I die shortly afterwards.

Think I'm gonna have to come back when I'm level 60 or something; even at Level 53 versus a Level 45 Vita it just seems impossible.

If you are thinking about grinding then I highly recommend you to start working on some augments, specifically resist topple and stagger, they are very useful because it keeps your battle rhytm going (they will come in handy as the battle progresses)

Which class and arts are you using?

Thanks man. Maybe I could stack up evasion augments, that's how I cheated my way passed the final boss in the first game.

I'm a Duelist with Burning Slash, Takedown Shot, (for its handy mech-topple ability) Flame Grenade, (for increased damage to toppled targets) Assault Hammer, (for toppling non-mechs) Defensive Stance, Flash Grenade, and Power Dive. (Just so I have a green art to answer green soul voices with)

I'm gonna be honest, I am pretty bad at the game. I can hit the soul voices pretty reliably, but I'm too dumb to figure out how to strategize with soul voices.

You got this man, just keep grinding and you will beat the boss in no time, if you keep getting stuck you can always ask for help around here

Would you recommend trying for evasion augments for all my characters, or would that not help much?
