About to start Chapter 9, and feeling very nervous as I'm told it's a frustrating difficulty spike.

Any advice, guys?

EDIT: Nvm, turns out I was overlevelled, so it was fine. The fog fell right in the middle of the fight though, which was a hassle.

I had some problems with the two last episodes, I was severy underleveled. My advise would be mid-50s for the last boss. I was 47 and I had to lower the boss difficulty (I'm a casual filth! :P).

+I'm 40 hours into the game
+Only just finished chapter 5
+No Skell, but I'm loving the game
+Reading these comments reminds me how much more there is yet. This is phenomenal!

My tip: I save every time I find and clear a mechanical/archaelogical/biological object. If you die between your last save - I think you may lose track of getting back there again and you'll lose the battle points. Even if I'm wrong, it's good to make a regular habit to save the game.

I predict NX launches in 2017 - not 2016

Don't worry about the level, it's alright

I think you need level 41 for a required affinity mission, but that's it. There are level 60 characters online with less than 100 potential, my character probably did more damage at level 40, lol. And negative gravity resistance is pretty bad, too unless you're using Ghostwalker (that shit is OP).

Oh, and I saw some American videos of bosses and they were 5 levels lower. Did the players lower the boss difficulty or are there differences between the versions?

If you lose against a boss several times the game reduces its level (you can choose not to).

Cheers for the advice, guys.

In the Wii original, I was level 89 when I finished the game, but here it looks like I'll finish the game far sooner.

I confess, I've never been much good with the finer nuances of the combat system like customizing soul voices, so I tend to brute force my way through bosses by overlevelling.

Currently maining Samurai Gunner, because holy crap topple + flame grenade is crazy powerful once you max out the latter.

I doubt that you'll make it to level 89. I really doubt it.

Badly worded on my part, I meant I'll finish the game a lot quicker than I did the first one at this rate.

If it helps, there's stuff that doesn't unlock until after Chapter 12, so the "final" part of the final boss isn't strictly accurate.

Just got the flight module and took to the skies, and wow, not only was it worth the wait, but holding it back so long works brilliantly, as being land-bound for so long makes taking flight that much more empowering and liberating when it finally arrives.

The view from up high, soaring seamlessly across a vast alien world, was one of the few moments of this generation so far that has truly impressed me.

Arts are connected with the weapons, not with the class. Once you learned the weapons you can combine them freely. That means that you can learn all other classes with assault rifle and longsword equipped. I'm also using that combo and the skill that extends topple by 5 seconds is the only way to kill 90+ tyrants on foot without Ghostwalker that I've found so far. But you still need crazy potential to deal millions of damage in a few seconds.

Flame Grenade isn't really powerful, maybe 40.000 damage at tertiary cooldown with toppled enemies if I remember correctly.

No need to worry, you still have chapter 10 to go though

Found Chapter 10 easier than 9 *shrugs*
