Do you think next gen downloading your games will be the standard? I know Nintendo is making a push this gen towards digital,or do you think physical will still be default?

Do you think a big shift can happen in just 4 years when the new gen is likely to begin? think about it, 4 years ago was 2011, thats not too long ago. People were saying "digital, mobiles" etc the same things back then and basically nothing changed.

Right now 1-1.5 out of 10 people buy the digital versions, I predict by the time next gen is around that could rise to 2-3/10 people buying digital.

Digital may become the standard for consoles one day, but i don't think it'll be for a while. The mass adoption of blu-ray on consoles has greatly extended the viability of physical media, and the lack of in-brand competition within the digital space has made the transition a lot less appealing than it could otherwise be. The latter will need to improve before most people will want to fully embrace digital.

No. Others already explained.

It would be cool if you ad a poll too. :)

Bet with Teeqoz for 2 weeks of avatar and sig control that Super Mario Odyssey would ship more than 7m on its first 2 months. The game shipped 9.07m, so I won

No. It is still reliant on physical hardware that is local and could break down. Its unpractical. Streaming is the future of gaming. Whether we like to admit it or not.

I really hope not. Can't speak for anywhere else but if that happens in the UK then it proves that people are idiots. Paying more for a lesser product? Can't get much more idiotic than that.

I don't think digital is necessarily a 'lesser product', it does have advantages over physical media for many, but you're right about pricing. £55 for a new game (and that price often not dropping at all for months) really isn't reasonable.

"Default"? No. But it'll all be there for those who want to partake in it. Physical will still be the leading way people buy full games.

I`m inclined to say no. It`s still too early for the jump for all digital, and I really like my physical good... I`d rather have my things be physical rather than digital.

I have gone mostly digital this gen and it has worked for me... for the most part. I did regret buying bravely default digitally as I really hate that game and would have liked to have the option to trade it in... but oh well. Pretty much every other game I have bought is a game I plan holding on to so I like the convenience of digital!

Yes, I think so.

Internet speeds will need to be much faster (like download 25GB in 1 hour) and storage space will need to be 2TB at least. But considering storage space started at 20GB last gen (smallest HDD on PS3 and 360) and got all the way to 500GB, it is possible that by the end of this gen HDD size might increase by 10x, so we might have a 5TB sku Xb one and PS4 before the next gen starts. If I can get 20 25GB games on my hard drive before I have to start managing the content of my HDD then I think that will be OK to go more or less all digital.
