 I think a fair number of previous PC sales will turn into console sales so I won't expect PC numbers to increase drastically

Why? PC gaming has become more popular, not less.

They do but it is wonky because they use their own method to track steam sales and not get it directly from valve! Think of them as the vgc of steam sales because there are a number of things that can affect the "sale" of a game. Also steamspy is in alpha so take it with a grain of salt

Granted, but here's a statement from Dave Gilbert - founder of WadjetEye games, a small adventure games developer/publisher - reg. Steamspy: http://www.wadjeteyegames.com/2015/04/05/lets-talk-steam-spy/

The Cities: Skylines numbers on Steamspy are pretty much in line with today's press release of 1 million sold as well. The guys behind Steamspy seem to do a pretty good job.

PC numbers are far too low.

The Witcher 1 sold 1,7 million copies on Steam alone http://steamspy.com/app/20900
The Witcher 2 sold 2.7 million copies on Steam alone http://steamspy.com/app/20920

Mind you, the Witcher is a GOG original franchise, meaning it sold a ton on GOG as well.

The Witcher 3 will probably sell 4 million on PC, maybe even more.

Yeah, discovered the site as well today. However it showcases amount of owners. So that includes retail, promo codes, humble bundle and all those things. But it is a good indicator in some sense.

Counter strike GO for example that didn't had that many discounts and wasn't in any promotional stuff I think is at 12 million. (though it was a cheaper game to begin with)

Call of duty games that don't receive any significant price cuts tend to do also well on steam. Most entries around 2-3 million however Ghosts and AW have a decline

That's a bit too much. I'd say about 6/7 million combined. But, if it actually hits 10 million I would not complain, it seems to be a very good game.

That's true. I guess they are better than vgc currently loll

PC Specs: CPU: 7800X3D || GPU: Strix 4090 || RAM: 32GB DDR5 6000 || Main SSD: WD 2TB SN850

I would say 7 million total. Here are my predictions;

PS4: 2.5 million

Xbox One: 1 million

PC: 3.5 Million

I`m not sure of the sales of 1 and 2, but they don`t seem so great. So I`m inclined to say no. Maybe LT it could get close.

What is GOG?

http://www.gog.com is CD Projekt's (The Witcher developer) own PC games distribution platform. It's arguably the most famous digital distribution platform for PC games behind Steam. The acronym originally meant "Good Old Games" (today not anymore as they now also sell new games). More details: http://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/GOG.com
