Forums - Gaming - So with Bloodborne being a commercial and critical success, Sony and From must be in talks for the next project, what should it be?

You're concentrating too much on speculating Miyazaki's platform choices. I don't think it matters to him if his games are exclusive or multiplat, as long as he gets to make whatever he wants. Sony will give them the budget and accomodate his needs.

It's not like Miyazaki is sitting there, waiting to make another multiplatform game again, as if the quality of his game is gonna increase by going multiplat lol.

I don't thing it's too much to speculate that a creator would want as large an audience as possible to experience his work. Even if the quality doesn't increase as a result, the ammount of people playing the game does, and any smart publisher would give him the proper resources to maintain his quality of work anyway. Literally no reason he'd need to keep his next game exclusive. He'd still be making whatever he wants with a multiplat.

Because Sony owned the name Demon Souls, but neglected to publish to EU and US territories.  Atlus picked it up, and then worked w/ From to make Dark Souls as a multiplat.  Sony distributed worldwide, so the circumstances which allowed Dark Souls to be made, don't exist this gen.

I don't see how that changes anything. None of that stops From from making another multiplat franchise. All it takes is another publisher.

Then, that's a perception issue on your part.

It's not a perception issue at all. None of that effects the possibility of From making another multiplat.

Sure it is, clearly From wants a distribution partner for worldwide releases.  Sony has assumed that role fully, this time, as opposed to...last time.  Bloodborne has already launched better than all of their previous titles.  Makes sense to continue the partnership.  Now, could someone step in and create a new partnership?  Sure.  But it won't be with Bloodborne.  And from what Ethomaz is saying, it sounds like it won't be any title, in the near future.

After 4 games and recent BB success I think he has a pretty good idea of where his audience is, Playstation.

if Sony and From Software take the decision to colaborate on another exclusive Playstation game then i sure HOPE it is Demons Souls 2... because in all seriousness, whats the advantage of owning IPs if you are not gonna use them?... (well outside of not letting them go to other platforms) Demons Souls is already highly respected in the Souls community (and many consider it the best game like myself) so a sequel to that game would be awesome!.

Either that or Bloodborne 2 (for the same reasons), but i feel like Demons Souls deserves it more since well... Bloodborne just came out and DeS has been out since 2009.

Depending how much Bloodborne sells, we could see Bloodborne 2 and/or Demon's Souls 2. If From Software profits more from being exclusive with sony than making another Dark soul, we probably won't see many multiplatform games for a bit.

Airborne!

“It appeared that there had even been demonstrations to thank Big Brother for raising the chocolate ration to twenty grams a week. And only yesterday, he reflected, it had been announced that the ration was to be reduced to twenty grams a week. Was it possible that they could swallow that, after only twenty-four hours? Yes, they swallowed it.”

- George Orwell, ‘1984’

Whatever it is, I'm sure it will be Souls related or Souls inspired.

Wrong

2 teams
Bloodborne and Dark Souls 2 were developed at the same time.

If Miyazaki wants he could do another PS4 Exclusive while "Team B" is developing Dark Souls 3 as a Multiplat.
Would like that a lot - Miyazaki is deeply connected to Playstation so his games should stay with them.

Yeah right... Like Final Fantasy was deeply connected to Nintendo and Monster Hunter was deeply connected to Sony.
