Total:26

There's exclusives, console exclusives, and multiplats. But which multiplat is the most multiplat of them all? This is something I've thought about after being startled by the platform list of a particular game.

This game is FIFA 14, which launched for 13 different platforms, including:

  • PC (Windows)
  • PlayStation 2*
  • PlayStation 3
  • PlayStation 4
  • PSP*
  • PS Vita
  • Xbox 360
  • Xbox One
  • Wii
  • Nintendo 3DS
  • Android
  • iOS
  • Windows Phone

*The next game, FIFA 15, did not release on these platforms

So is FIFA 14 the record holder for "Most Platforms for a Single Title"? Or is there another game that has launched on more platforms?

What about Tetris? If you include all the remakes and everything then that has to be a lot...

Edit: Wikipedia lists 29 different platforms just for the original version, throw in mobile/psxbox remakes and you've got even more.

Can't believe Tetris slipped my mind... But yeah, that's way more! Come to think of it, I think Tetris is also the best-selling game ever.

Tetris also had the advantage of numerous PC platforms at the time, not just one dominant PC platform like there is now.

Tetris

Pac-Man. It has been on pretty much every platform in one form or another since 1980, and still gets released on pretty much every platform.

space invaders too

One game that comes in mind is the first Sonic the Hedgehog on Sega Genesis.

"Just for comparison Uncharted 4 was 20x bigger than Splatoon 2. This shows the huge difference between Sony's first-party games and Nintendo's first-party games."

I'll have to agree with Tetris.

Tetris for me as well. An easy game to get into as well, not to mention it is quite simplistic to develop.

That poll is worthy of a research paper.
