Or you and anyone interested in the game could just buy the Wii U. You never know, you just might like it...
Gotta figure out how to set these up lol.

Nintendo definitely handled the western launch of xenoblade poorly. For whatever reason, Nintendo doesn't think the west can handle rpg's on their system (see mother). I think other games have proven there is a sizable market for rpg's here, but Nintendo doesn't see it...
| ReimTime said: I see some have called for an all-in-one platform. Just swooping in to state my dislike of such a thing; if you are talking about only one all-in-one console being available that is. If several different consoles were available with the full game catalog than my opinion would be different; although I don't see how they could all successfully coexist, especially with PC being pretty damn close to an all-in-one. One reason I am so accepting of the three different consoles - other than being a level headed human being etc - is that their coexistence equates to competition and prevents a monopoly on the business. Competition breeds lower prices, innovation, and progression. If one company were to produce the lone console on the market...... well you might as well call them Comcast. |
If you're referring to my comment, I didn't actually mean that seriously. I was just mirroring how ridiculous it was to ask for such a thing practically. It may look good on paper, but in practice it will not happen.
Nintendo wants to sell consoles, releasing their internally developed games on other plattforms won't do that

Yeah, definitely. There was an article the other day about the UK market, it said the console games market last year was worth £1.1 billion while the PC market (including MMOs and 'social games') was only worth £771 million. So console is definitely where the money is |
I was about to say that. Good post. Plus there is a new site that tracks steam sales accurately. Steam sales numbers aren't that big as people say it is. I really don't like port begging of first party games.
.. Wasn't there a thread recently suggesting that exclusives like Bloodborbe should be experienced by as many people as possible (on other platforms)? The posts here make it clear that no exclusive should go multiplat. Like ever.
| veritaz said: No offense but posters like you really anger me OP. Pretending like you care about the sales of the game when you really just want it on a platform you have/would rather play on. |
Actually not the reason why i wrote the post. I will get a Wii u to play this game. Actually up until lately i couldn't careless about RPG on computer but as more and more do it. I realize what a good thing it is. The Y's games, valkyria chronicles ect.

Actually nintendo isn't the only one shortsided here about RPGs. I think they all underestimate what a good rpg advertised and pushed can do.

Well, XCX is being advertised/pushed. So are many RPGs. It's not a mainstream genre and understandably so.

I hope they bundle it outside Japan. The mainstream part is true but not true. FF7 sold over 10mill and WRPG sell well. I think there is a little blindness here in the whole market. Make a good game and push it and it can sell. What would happen if Nintendo made this a mainstay of there system like Mario and later kept it packaged with all future system sales. (After it sells alot of course) I think you could build up a series ofgRPG to where it could sell millions easily. But it would take alot of work and a tempory sacrifice.
Will it be done not likely but i seriously think there is alot of potential here unseen.
