Forums - Nintendo - So, uh... What the hell happened to those Wii Retail/Download games?

I think we'll get a bunch of Wii, N64, and DS games for Wii U announced at E3

That would be a pretty shitty E3 reveal.

Obligatory Please Understand

It also took third parties several months to get seriously started with the GBA and the previous systems. I wouldn't worry too much about the delay right now. Although when it comes to Wii games, third parties don't really have much to choose from, so you shouldn't expect much overall.

I wasn't expecting anything like the SNES or GBA, but I was expecting at least one game by now. I guess I didn't pay attention with the GBA, as I didn't realize there was a gap there. I feel like Nintendo must have consistantly supported it until they came then, because I don't remember a gap like this when the GBA VC launched.

I don't know and I no longer care. I was pumped to get the Metroid Trilogy but after I got it and booted it up, I realized something. I really, really, REALLY hate SD games on an Hdtv. And when I say hate, I mean seething. I'm serious. I'd rather play Pong.

From now on, non-HD games will be played on their original system hooked up to a CRT tv. I refuse to buy blurry, pixilated digital versions of games when I can spend money on the real thing and play it without having to burn my eye balls afterwards.

Well, I don't know how things were in America, but in Europe the GBA VC launched last April with around ten games spread across the entire month, afterwards it was on average one game every three weeks with an occasional third party game (like Namco's Klonoa). That lasted into mid-fall when Capcom began to roll out their Mega Man Zero games and it wasn't until January that Konami started with the Castlevania games (although of the latter I know that they arrived around October/November in America because I was waiting for those myself).

If the Wii VC was getting one game every three weeks, this thread wouldn't exist. I just find it really weird that it feels like literally nothing has come out since it launched.

In NA at least, there's been nothing announced since the initial wave. Even if what you say is true, it still doesn't explain the lack of 3rd party support. It's not like they aren't supporting everything else VC wise. Capcom is still releasing games for the GBA VC. What makes Wii digital games different? I seriously expected a lot more over all by now. Even from Nintendo.

Seriously started? Only Nintendo,CAPCOM and Konami are supporting the GBA and VC in general with little sprinkles by Bandai Namco and Natsume.  There is nothing serious about Wii U VC.

I mean, it isn't like there aren't good games for Wii, GBA, and DS...that's far from the truth. I wonder why people who sold big besides Nintendo aren't getting in on this opportunity.
