Well honestly Microsoft owes him one, because he tore them a new a-hole over their policies but probably prevented the XBox One from flopping entirely out of the gates. Maybe Nintendo should take this to heart too ... they do often need to learn things the hard way, this is the same company that censored Mortal Kombat on the SNES and almost lost the 16-bit wars because of that until consumer reaction forced them to have to change their tune. |
Complete apples and oranges, and the fact that there is absolutely no noticable decrease in sales show that no one really cares.
Wasn't impressed by the video, but I understand the sentiment. I don't agree, but I understand.
I pointed this out in another thread (seriously, we have four of these now?) but it's important to realize that if Joe and others didn't object to Nintendo's policy, it would potentially destroy the ecosystem they rely on.
Joe has every right to be hostile to people defending Nintendo's policy; they're supporting a policy that could effectively cripple his ability to make money on the most popular video service on the internet.
I believe in honesty, civility, generosity, practicality, and impartiality.

Consumer hostile policies do not affect consumers (it's not just youtube; Nintendo are famous for being quite unfair towards consumers and retailers alike, ever since the 1980's)? Corporate policy that harms PR and image and subsequently; sales, causing worse bottom lines and thus less funds for developing and distributing software and hardware does not affect consumers? That's kind of a backwards way of thinking.

I think he's more saying the YOUTUBE policies do not affect the consumers.

Yeah, how dare they release well polished games that aren't broken pieces of mess.
How dare they give me Super Mario 3D Land, Wind Waker HD, Pikmin 3, Bayonetta 1, Mario & Luigi: Superstar Saga and The Legend of Zelda: the Minish cap for free!

Nintendo don't have more than 2 million fans that support them? I would beg to differ.
