I'd say Super Paper Mario was darker than TTYD. Just saying.

No.

My bet with The_Liquid_Laser: I think the Switch won't surpass the PS2 as the best selling system of all time. If it does, I'll play a game of a list that The_Liquid_Laser will provide, I will have to play it for 50 hours or complete it, whatever comes first.

Is Fatal Frame 5 dark or scary or both?

Both.

Nintendo actually has a lot of IP that are this way or can at least swing either way. Paper Mario, Zelda, Xenoblade, Metroid, Fire Emblem, Fatal Frame, F-Zero (believe it or not, though it is very comic bookish), Golden Sun, Mother. What Nintendo needs to do is balance their production so that these IP release in tandem with their other IP. So instead of getting most of their lighter-hearted platformers and other IP and THEN their darker IP, you get them mixed together. IMO, the Wii had an excellent start with this in 2006-2007. Wii Sports, Twilight Princess, Mario Galaxy, and Metroid were highlights and represented a nice balance. If they could achieve that balance for a whole gen (and market) it could help their sales and brand image be more stable (as opposed to this gen where Nintendo started weak, got a bit worse, and then got better later when more diversification came along).

SSB was dark, I mean you got to play as Dark Pit, I'm getting goosebumps just thinking about it.

Actually the overarching story of the SSB series is rather dark, go watch Game Theory's vid on it if you hadnt already.

It's always good to have a dark Nintendo game every once in a while. I honestly think Zelda Wii U won't be as bright and happy as they've been showing.

I hope Zelda U has a dungeon with a mood similar to the Shadow Temple from OoT

Rated E for Everyone... No, ESRB you got this one terribley wrong. That game gave many a child nightmares.

That place gave me nightmares as a kid. that white hand thing...the cryptic messages... I can stomach it now though. Nothing scares me :D

Hope soon...

Almost every Nintendo game has a dark side when you think about it. The ones where I can't really find it are Animal Crossing and the Wii series. And I'm sure the Wii Fit Trainer can fit right into the Uncanny Valley for some XD.

You know it deserves the GOTY.
