1. Correct! It's a problem with my Wii U's system memory. Sorry for the confusion!

2. Yup, I can play all the games just fine including DKC:TF. I just can't access the system memory for some odd reason.

3. I tried on many separate occasion to log in to the their tech support forums which requires logging in to club nintendo. Oddly enough, I can access my club Nintendo most of the time with firefox but never get the tech support forum to work with chrome or firefox. And yeah, it looks like I have to call Nintendo.

I would call Nintendo and find out what they say. Likely have to send it in to get it sorted.


Oh is the system memory connected to SSD or symlink? And I think if i format the Wii U's memory, I will lose all my save file for my game so I'll definitely won't do that

And yeah, it looks like I should call Nintendo tomorrow.

hopefully your problem is resolved once Nintendo provided the steps needed. Seems like a defrag issue on Wii U's internal storage. hence you can't move or delete it from the internal storage.

Hm, doesn't sound good... Let's hope that the internal flash memory isn't damaged.

Maybe the Tropical Freeze patch failed to install, look at your download management to see if it is still there.
And check if the game updated to the newest version 1.1.0.

1GB USB sticks are usually pretty old and oftenly only have around 10 MB/s, but Wii U games don't work at that speed. Do you really have nothing else? I have dozens of USB sticks and external HDDs...

So I called Nintendo tech support. They told me to delete all internet connections before accessing the system memory again. Unfortunately, that didn't solve the problem (how would that even solve it in the first place?). I have to ship the system to them now but luckily my Wii U is still under warranty. 

I asked them if I could just get an external harddrive and download new game file and save data to there but they said I have to first download everything into system memory before moving it into the external harddrive. Is this true?

The DK game is version 1.1.0. Everything works besides accessing system memory in data management. And yeah I have nothing else besides 1 GB USB...

As long as the data in the system memory is not corrupted, you should be able to move everything to the HDD (including the game, DLCs, save data, everything).

You can also download and install the game directly to the HDD, there's absolutely no need to first download on the system memory and then move it.

Sweet! I rather not have to pay money to play some free dlc but I don't want to miss out when they initially release! I I'll look for an external hard drive now and delay fixing the system memory later.

I know not everyone does but you should buy an external with it's own power cord rather than get one that is USB powered (if you can find one that also has a fan that is a big bonus).  Also I'll back up osed125.  I have tons of digital games and they seem to download straight to the harddrive (as indicated by the HDD access lights)

Cool! Also I tried testing if I could move files to my 1 GB USB from my system memory but it isn't possible from selecting the USB device. Will I be able to do this with an external hard drive that has a bigger size?

Also will I be able to run a future smash bro dlc that is on my external hard drive when the smash bros game file is in my Wii U's system memory?

1. So you can't access to your 1GB USB? If so, there's a possibility that neither the HDD would work propertly either.

2. Yes, no further issues. 



My bet with The_Liquid_Laser: I think the Switch won't surpass the PS2 as the best selling system of all time. If it does, I'll play a game of a list that The_Liquid_Laser will provide, I will have to play it for 50 hours or complete it, whatever comes first.
