honestly though it's just human nature to like good looking things.

That and from a story telling aspect you can immerse the player more. I'm totally on Jake with this one xD I mean honestly ask yourself, if you could have one of two copies of a game on your chosen system, would you opt for the one with better or worse graphics? Keep in mind it's the same game, just one has more polish. Unless it breaks the art direction's integrity, upping the graphics does nothing but help the games quality.

Because graphics are pretty. :)
